My Opera 2001 – 2014
Opera's community, and for many users their first blog. Forums, blogs, photo albums, skins and widgets galleries, and the place where the Desktop Team talked with its testers.
From forums to a social network
My Opera started at the beginning of the 2000s as the home of Opera's user forums and of the skins and buttons made by the community. It grew into a full social network: every member had a blog, a photo album and a profile, and the same account was used for Opera Link and Opera Unite.
Opera's own teams blogged there too. The Desktop Team blog announced weekly snapshots of the browser, and its comment threads, sometimes hundreds of comments long, were where bugs were reported and features debated.
My Opera closed on March 3, 2014. Our archive keeps snapshots of its homepage over the years, the Desktop Team blog, and the skins that were shared there.
