I love it
Great skin. Very clean look and great icons. One of my favorites for sure.
Pizzapops, Thanks for the suggestion! The current tabs was an effort to resolve an issue another user was having. The OS has some affect on various skin elements. I may need to play a bit more to get the tabs where they need to be so they work best for everyone. But you gave me something to work with - thanks!
Marc, The skin keeps getting better all the time. The last two versions have made a change to the appearance and preferences tabs. It used to be that the active tab was in the foreground, now it is in the background. Was this intentional? Here is my quick fix: [Tab Button Skin] Padding Top= 1 Padding Bottom= 0 Padding Left= 4 Padding Right= 4 Margin Top= 2 Margin Left= 0 Margin Right= 0 [Tab Button Skin.selected] Padding Top= 2 Padding Bottom= 2 Padding Left= 4 Padding Right= 4 Margin Top= 0 Margin Left= -2 Margin Right= -2 If you want a real challenge, try making your skins compatable with Tobias's toolbar setup (TTT-Setup 5.2). I started working on one of my skins but gave up due to a lack of time. It was going to be more work than the original skin.
The Transfers icon has been changed and is now different from the page reload. This applies to all office skins.
"Transfer-Icon in Panelbar looks like the reload-icon in Adressbar" Thats what I originaly intended. But I will change it in the next release. "Sorry, but the alignment is still to small... Appearance after choosing a tab" Due to the layout and sizes under WinXP default theme I cant adjust any further. What OS are you using? In your screenshot the tabs look fine to me. But thats an opinion "Second skin download was named" Your the only one with that problem. The skin is named the same as the file. 'MS Office 2003 Native'. "The "Search"-Icon isn't Office2003-styled, i suggest this one" I have the binocular image already and purposely avoided it. Mostly because I dont feel it "fits" with an Opera theme. Opera being an internet application. The current image serves several purposes. Page Zoom, Internet Searches as well as Find. The binocular image is specific to one purpose. I could implement the image and define it specifically for 'Find' only. But I dont think it would lend to usability of the skin.
Hi Marc, Excessive occupation with your skin and hours of Office Icon-Search gave the following comments ... Transfer-Icon in Panelbar looks like the reload-icon in Adressbar: [img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/mf01.jpg <-> [img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/mf03.jpg Sorry, but the alignment is still to small... Appearance after choosing a tab: [img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/mf02.jpg Second skin download was named [img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/mf05.jpg ? The "Search"-Icon isn't Office2003-styled, [img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/mf06.jpg i sugges this one...[img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/windowbar_mail_search.png And here are some other 2003-Icons as PNG, i've implemented them into your version for private use: Redo:[img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/redo.png Undo:[img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/undelete.png My favourite for "Clear all":[img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/clear.png Small Screen:[img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/smallscreen.png And tile horizontally:[img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/tilehori.png Best regards, Jensus
"From my point of viev: Perfect..." Or as close as I can get it anyway. But thanks!
That's it From my point of viev: Perfect...
JensusUT: Replaced Tile and Cascade. Fixed Tabs. Skin now falls back on Windows Native skin for Personal bar specifications and other elements. [PAGEBAR BORDER SKIN] is old skin spec. Not in use. Not required. At this point Im not updating MyOpera just to remove a dead element thats of no consequence. On next major update.
Hm... looks like the "skin"-content is missing...? [PAGEBAR BORDER SKIN] Incomplete= 1 Tile Left= skin/pagebar_border_tile_left.png Tile Top= skin/pagebar_border_tile_top.png Tile Right= skin/pagebar_border_tile_right.png Tile Bottom= skin/pagebar_border_tile_bottom.png BR, Jensus
Hi Marc, Funny... while i had a look at your skin.ini (well sortet directories!) Pizzapops did the same, i think He's right, and i've some more comments to this version. I use the personal bar. While hover over favicons they grow to big... 2 screenshots will tell you more than my few words: [img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/mrandesize.jpg <- Right size [img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/marcfousize.jpg <- to big Also the Appearance and preferences tabs were to small: [img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/marcfou2.jpg [img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/marcfou3.jpg Nevertheless, the additional icons in "edit"-menue are great! And if you still open for comments...: "Title vertically" shouldn't use this [img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/marcfou5.jpg , better is this real vertical icon:[img] http://jensusut.wohlfuehlboard.de/marcfou4.jpg And (but this is my personal opinion) the "minimize all" and "maximize all"-buttons don't look like they belong to the skin, sorry... maybe because they come from Office window handling and not from the menue icons. But of course, i can modify it for myself, so don't bother about it Best regards, Jensus
The first one. 200\50. The second one I think i got from the Win Native skin. I was doing a comparison and forgot to remove it before repacking the skin.
Marc, I love it now. Check the beginning of the skin.ini. It looks like [Options] is duplicated. Which one did you intend? If JensusUT is unhappy with the tab width, all he has to do is personalize two lines in the skin.ini :-). [Options] Native skin= Windows Fallback foreground= 1 Fallback background= 0 Pagebar max button width = 200 Pagebar min button width = 50 [Options] Native skin= Windows Pagebar max button width= 160 Pagebar min button width= 160 Fallback foreground= 1 Fallback background= 0
Fixed! More screen space now. ALso edited the names as they appear on the Opera Skins page.
Hi Marc, Great work! Looks very nice and may be a worthier follower of Mr. Andersons Office 2003 ( http://my.opera.com/community/customize/comments.dml?id=1787 ) But some remarks: The names of your new Skins are short... very short ... They only appear as "Native", "Silver" and then MS Office 2003, you should name all three in the same way. Another thing: Try Mr. Andersons place-saving version and compare while toggeling between your native and his skin. There's a lack of space in the personal bar, it takes some pixel more without any reason. Same with the tabs: With your skin they take 1/3 more space, example is this "Customize Opera"-page. I'll prepare some screenshots to make the difference clear if necessary BR, JensusUT
I love it !
The size is great. I prefer a minimalist approach. I wish you had eliminated the hover's golden glow. It degradates the graphics (fuzzy edges). I know I shouldn't critique and should go ahead and add the extra lines to the skin.ini myself ;-).
Just to say I find the buttons too small to match those of M$ Office... Can you put the Office natural-sized icons?
There were missing drop down buttons in the address bar, search field and zoom. The problem has been corrected. Please re-download the skin.
