"By froggy26rk, 25. June 2006, 04:23:07", If you look this guy's fav,"torrentspy", on the wiki, you will find it is one of the very few listed as having adware. If you look up "torrentspy" website you will find a forum which critizes Opera bit torrent client as being banned by many "trackers" for, "not being a proper torrent". If you look up "froggy26rk" you will find a short membership with no personal info. Taken all together I doubt the sincerity of "froggy26rk", and I think the risk of adware in "torrentspy" should serve as a strong caution against it's use.

The search is nice, but then you cannot do anything with the results!! What a dissapointment!!

The BitTorrent Widget loads fine, but each time I actually enter a search, it crashes, and so does Opera (happened 5 out of 5 times so far). I have tried maybe two dozen different widgets upto now. Most of them worked as intended, some didn't, but the worst behavior I ever encountered was like jumpy mouse response or lacking performance. This is the only one that causes such serious trouble. Please don't get me wrong - I am describing what happens here to find a solution, not to put anything down. Given the plenty positive feedback above, it looks like an exception anyway. I'm on Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.15-28. Opera hogs the CPU from time to time, but my system is otherwise very stable. Unfortunately, I don't know an Opera command line switch to enable debugging widgets (i. e. javascript).

It looks nice, but I can't get it to work ... at all. My firewall is disabled. Could it be a problem with 9.2?

I just downloaded it onto my Mac and it works great. I downloaded Solomon Burke. My question is, how can I access more choices? There are only about 15 or 20 choices. Is there a way to get the artist that I want? Annie Em

BTW, the download went right into iTunes and played immediately. This would be a GREAT widget if there were tons of choices. Annie Em

Like another person, this widget doesn't do anything just sits there.

Don't see the point of this. Why not go to your favourite torrent search page and just use existing opera functionality and create a search with a keyword?
  • jimbohMay 30, 2008
RLapper, I totally agree with you. I would rather use a Torrent Search Engine online. Sometimes you can't find everything from just bittorrent and you'll need to look at lot's of downloading sites. That's why I use an online search engine to make it easier. I'm not saying I don't like this widget, I still think it's pretty cool.
