Great work, especially for film lovers. P.S Good luck for the next Academy Awards editions!
Though I can watch the same content by going to the NFB website, none of the videos load when using the widget. Any suggestions?
Hello ebibbee, Two weeks ago, I've uploaded an updated version of the widget to bypass the Flash security protection you encounter. This version 1.1 of the widget is still in the queue for reviewing by Opera staff. But the new description, on which I removed the procedure how to loosen Flash security, has been published immediately! While waiting for the 1.1 publication, here is the way to view films with the 1.0 version of the widget: Flash Security -------------- This widget uses Flash player and is controlled by Flash plugin security. After installing the widget, you'll have to accept Flash to access the media1.nfb.ca Web site. This step has to be done only once. - Go to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.html. - Check the Global Security Setting "Always Allows". It means that SWF files on your computer are allowed to access remote Web sites. You need to click on another tab for your changes to be stored, and restart Opera to load the new Flash security settings. This step should be no more necessary when the 1.1 version is published, I hope in the days to come...
Hi Carucioare, Sad enough, no NFB film was nominated this year. But you can watch past years Oscar-winners movies in the widget or on our site http://www.nfb.ca/, for instance the 1977 classic "The Sand Castle" http://www.nfb.ca/film/sand_castle.
This rocks. I'm a fan of documentaries.
hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
how r u friendsssss
Linda, if you're trying to make a few pennies plugging adds in comments on sites, pick sites relevant to the junk your spinning, making less people feel like reading them. And as for the opera admin, why isn't there a flag button or any kind of regulation on these comment pages, it's all bots and pluggers with duplicate messages - the same posts on every page. Or is it the any content is better than none thing? I realize it can make it seem busy at a glance, but knowing how much it aggravates my guts, I can't see it helping growth, or encouraging users of the browser to use the facilities, my first impression was that it was a fake forum like on one of them cheesy sell you crap sites, then I saw there were real people in there, a few posts down. There is enough good stuff freely available to sift through why would anyone want to wade through this kind of thing. Anyway in a nutshell, I love the browser ( or suite) for many reasons and would love to see the community and user base take off, more and more people are using it here now in the states, I think a junk or flag button for spam and the like is essential, and more board cleansing until a community picks up, and I'm hoping it's not the site that dumps the same comments, poorly shuffled, on every page.
