Description
This is not really a game; It is a real time aquarium simulation. You get a beatifull animated aquarium with fishes that you buy, feed, breed and play with, like a real aquarium. Day after day, week after week, see your fishes grow, mate, age and fight. You can give them names because they may last several months, and give you children
This simulation lets you relax, because most fishes can be fed every other day, and live quite long if you take care of your aquarium a few times a week. Good to teach children patience before they get a real one! But still you can interact, selling your fishes or buying new ones, buying filters, lights or sceneries for your aquarium, or hormones to enhance breed rate or growth, medecine to heal sick fishes, clean the tank...
This simulation is based on
Grafio
's orignial work in 2007 (thanks for that excellentely coded widget) with some additional graphics from
4everdemon
. I only optimized the gameplay to slow its pace and balance the fishes caracteristics.

You start with ... so spend them wisely, you won't be earning so much money for some time! Will you find the right strategy, between contemplative laziness and optimized breeding ? Fishes in the shop are renewed every 5 minutes, so don't panic, you'll get the one you want when you can afford it. Except maybe the Seahorse ? You will get mostly aquarium fishes (no sharks, sea turtles, orcas, dolphins, barracudas or piranhas). For the original SimAquarium players, take care, many stats have evolved to keep the game balanced. There is no "killer fish" like the FreshWater Angelfish in Grafio's version, so take your time and make sure you envoy the way to the mythical Seahorse
Very interesting modification / project fork
None of the buttons on my "game" work, except for the display buttons and the buy or sell boxes. I'd like to know what the indicator or ordering buttons mean on the right-hand panel. And what does the round thingy in the top right position do/mean? Help?

how do you gain money in this? im so confused...
Any plans to get this upgraded for Opera 10.5? This widget is the only thing holding me back! It's that good.
In fact this widget works great with Opera 10 (I tried with latest version to date). Even better as you don't have to leave opera running in the background. The only thing is that you have to download it again and you have to start from the beginning. I have just lost 2 nearly adult seahorses :_(
Having no probs with this widget in 10.51 at all, tank status is kept upto date after the comp restarts. And you can put the widget into your startup folder in opera 10 as well, which is nice

How do you make it transparent like in the screenshot? On mine, you can't see any windows or the desktop behind the glass..
