WAC Demo: PIM and AddressBookItem
WAC 1.0 Demo: PIM and AddressBookItem
Description
void findAddressBookItems( comparisonContact, startInx, endInx)
: Find all contacts matching the supplied comparison contact. Wildcards are supported and searches are case-insensitive. E.g., assigning 'smith' to the 'full_name' attribute of the comparisonContact will return all contacts having 'smith' in the name. Backslash is used as a escape character to search a string containing '*'. Other characters can be escaped in the same way such as backslash (), newline ( ), tab ( ), double quote ("), and single quote().Assigning a null or undefined to an attribute will mean there is no filter requirement for the attribute. An attribute with an empty string ('') will search for empty strings. Widget can limit the number of returned values between startInx and endInx.This is an asynchronous function and will invoke the callback function that was assigned at the time that the find method is executed. The associated callback should be assigned prior to calling the find method. If no record is found, an empty array will be passed. This function only applies to the address book items stored in the phone memory.
void onAddressBookItemsFound( addressBookItemsFound)
Callback method to invoke when PIM.findAddressBookItems or PIM.getAddressBookGroupMembers completes.Parameter
addressBookItemsFound
- An array of AddressBookItem objects. If there is no record found after executing findAddressBookItems() methods, an empty array will be passed to this callback function. If startIndex is negative, and endindex is non-negative the startindex will be automatically changed to 0. If startInx equals endInx in PIM.findAddressBookItems function, the returned addressBookItemsFound will contain only one item whose sequence number is startInx. If startInx is greater than endInx in PIM.findAddressBookItems function, the returned addressBookItemsFound will be an empty array. If startInx is greater than the number of found items in PIM.findAddressBookItems function, the returned addressBookItemsFound will be an empty array. If endInx is greater than the number of found items in PIM.findAddressBookItems function, the returned addressBookItemsFound will contain items between startInx and the last returned item inclusively.
Note that this widget requires WAC 1.0 APIs support in a runtime, currently implemented in Android version only.
