Opera 2 for computers

The first public Opera. Version 2.00 was announced in April 1996 as shareware for Windows: you could try it, then buy a license. Opera 2.10, in December 1996, added frames, HTML 3.0, saved sessions and a zoom from 20% to 1000%, and Opera 2.12, in February 1997, let you turn off images, frames and animations, and added sounds. It was small, fast and ran well on the modest PCs of the time, which became Opera's calling card for the next ten years.
