    Now after Speed Dial Extensions, give us an improved Extension API, please.

    @Swapnil99pro: We're working on some updates. Was it anything in particular you had in mind?

    @Swapnil99pro: thanks for the link. This forum thread has already been discussed internally and we're looking at it. Pls respond to my question in the thread:)

    @Anton: I've forwarded your suggestions to our UXG team. Can't promise anything...

    I have two questions regarding Opera extensions:
    1- All extensions are safe?
    2- They are analyzed one by one before they appear on the site?

    Will the search results be improved any time?

    When I search for a specific addon and I know a part of the name, the results given are sometimes not really a help. A google search would be a lot faster, but that would indicate a low quality for Operas search.

    If I search for "google images" (to get to the addon "Google Images Direct") the expected result is after four entries of "Image Preview Popup" (different languages).
    If I search for only "google" the result is on page three after a lot of addons that does not even have the word "google" in their name or short description.

    Another example, if I search for "focus" to get to the addon "Focus on Textbox" the expected result is after four entries of "LinkRedirector" (again four different languages) and two other addons where I can not see what matches better that they have a higher rank in the search results.

    The name of an extension should have a higher priority in the search results in my opinion.

    Its the same on the addon page for Firefox and that drove me nuts already five years ago.

    @Sk0l
    We can't guarantee that all extensions are safe, however each one is tested and the code looked at before being published on addons.opera.com.
    Because of the number, complexity and possible code obfuscation of extensions, however, something may be missed so please use the same caution that you would for any other file repository or app store.

    @ouzowtf
    Thanks for highlighting this. I had a similar problem very recently. I believe the web team are aware of this and working on it, but I'll raise it as an issue just in case.

    A quick update - the team are working on the search issue so we can look forward to improved behaviour when they've worked their magic.
