12 million downloads in 7 days

December 7, 2009 · by Espen André Øverdahl

Within the first week, 12.5 million people discovered the power of Opera 10.10 with Opera Unite. This download rate shatters previous Opera records and marks an increase of 25 percent when compared to the download rates of Opera 10, launched two months earlier.

Opera currently counts for about 45 million active desktop users, with millions more using Opera on various types of devices, including mobile phones, game consoles, TVs and portable media players. The browser is developed with the company’s One Web mission in mind, in order to create a universal Web experience on any device, anytime, anywhere.

Thanks for downloading and supporting Opera!

yes! Will definitely keep spreading Opera! , Opera Mobile is the best I have ever seen! (currently typin from it :p: ) and Opera Mini as well I spread mini to whoever has internet on there phones and usually they are blackberry users and other phones they usually are suprised how they lived without it! Same goes with Opera Desktop especially for mac users they love the multiple uses of Opera 10.10 . Great Work guys!

I have to admit: I've found Opera superior and more interesting than both Internet Explore and Mozzilla. I've also installed opera mobile on my omnia HD (symbian system) and the result is brilliant! Go on developing opera and I'm sure that everyone who will surf on the net, will use it!

  • Jonas92Sunday, December 13, 2009 1:10:02 PM

Many people download Opera, but this does not say, that the people who download Opera, use it for browsing. Maybe they just want to use one feature of it.
    Though, this is something good.
