November 14, 2011 · by Aleksander Aas

There are close to 900 addons available on addons.opera.com. With close to two million downloads, Gismeteo Weather Forecast is one of the most popular.

It's the easiest way to add a weather forecast to your Speed Dial. Simply install it, then go preferences and search up your location. The weather data is provided by Gismeto and is super accurate for Oslo - sunny and cold!

'There are close to 900 addons available'

The old duplicate extensions for different languages should be merged to clean up the gallery a bit. this same extension is also present in russian language as a seperate extension and the russian language is also present in this extension

I installed it time ago and I think is the best Speed Dial weather forecast extension at the moment.

Can someone explain why the addon cannot detect your general location via your IP address?

I never understood why this basic idea is never implemented in any weather widget.

Most laptops do not have GPS and Opera does not let you manually "force" a location setting. The one-time selection is not complicated in any way.
