Bring the online offline!

One of the COOL things we started last year was user meetups. This is an excellent way to actually, phisically meet people with the same interest as you (the interest being Opera ). Most of the interaction between Opera users and fans happens online, and meetups serves well to bring these people together- offline.

Any of you can host a meetup. All you have to do is encourage anyone interested in Opera to get togehter in a cafe/bar/university classroom and simply talk about Opera. It's very informal... and turns out to be very fun, especially when people start sharing tips and tricks of the browser!

For a brilliant example of a meetup organized last year, check out the one hosted by a Czech Opera fan Martin Polovinčák:

So, what are the steps to hosting a classic Opera meetup?

- Start by posting on the forums. We'll reply to you prompty
- We can then help you publicise it on My Opera and give you ideas on how you can reach Opera fans in your region.
- Tell your friends/colleagues/classmates about it
- Get an idea of how many people are attending, and where they live
- Fix a time and place (make sure there's Wifi!)
- Think about topics you want to introduce/discuss
- MEET UP!

Remember, Opera will support you all the way. We'll send you t-shirts and other cool merchandise to distribute among everyone.

Bring it on! Be the first Choose Opera member to do it
