    Why not Java?

Just after updating Opera Mini, I got a warning from Onavo Count (a tool that monitors internet connection activity by app and issues warnings if it thinks the app hogs the network) that "Opera Mini is a data hogger, use it wise".

I never got such warning about Opera Mini before. So far (among browsers) it had complained only about Firefox for Android. I hope it's not some Onavo's global rating of Mini, but just some occasionally triggered warning...

If there's one thing Opera Mini is known for, it's saving data with its compression technology. Opera Mini is known for compressing websites up to 90% (in other words; if you surf for 10 MB, then you are likely to only receive 1-2 MB).

What might happen in your case is that Onavo Count sees that Opera Mini is your most used application on your phone and notifies you that this application is using data traffic.

We are always working to improve Opera Mini on all supported platforms. This update was for Android, but Java is a platform we are continually working to improve and innovate new features for.

Waiting for New Update for java Opera Mini 7
  • EJTuesday, November 13, 2012 3:41:45 PM

I just opened Opera Mini and an "Installing" bar filled up. Now it says Version 7.5.32193. Is this correct? I think it is. In a sort of related matter however... Android and Verizon had better bring us HTC Droid Incredible 2 users our long ago promised Ice Cream Sandwich updates now! Or else they will be sorry they lost good customers.

Damn no any answer to my question, frankly chrome is much suitable and better for android, i would pay more for inet traffic rather than use opera mini with shity malwares from yandex

Have just updated to Opera Mini 7.1. It seems to run faster than before, but I am still having download issues-keep getting `DOWNLOAD FAILED` message. Also will not save pages.

I am using an LG900g phone. Is this issue germanic to the phone itself, or is there a workaround?

Please repond here or email me.
    [email protected]. Thanx.

Opera mini is the best support device browser.
  • hharrishSaturday, December 22, 2012 1:47:42 AM

Truth? I can`t support your statement because when it comes to T-Mole and other `pay as you go` carriers, Opera seems to NOT WANT to accomodate their users. And Opera claims to be an `open source...open use` entity.
So, what is the truth of the matter? I can get arestricted, limited-use version easily, but I am not offered a fuuly, functional signed version. I.e...no photo, app, or other download capabilities, and we are told to `be quiet` and to `not talk like that.` We are promised but are never given solutions. Opera, you have the capabilities to deliver what we asj. Quit looking to fill you pockets. Instead, ful fill the wishes of those who have faithfully followed you, desite your FAULTS.

Opera is not open source, and never was.

What are you talking about anyway? Your post reads like it's written by someone high on some really strong substance.

Give who what they ask? Opera can't give everyone what they ask. There are nearly 300 million active Opera users!
