Education on the web

April 17, 2013 · by Anna Rohleder

Most of us are well acquainted with the fun and entertaining parts of the internet. But did you know about MOOCs and other types of open educational resources available on the web?

Last month, the second annual Open Education Week was held, showcasing the many free and open educational resources available to anyone who can get online.

From the School of Open to the Khan Academy, Coursera to open resources from the Internet Archive, you can take courses in math, web design - even the Norwegian language!

Have you participated in any open educational courses before, either as a student or teacher? What do you think?

I hope that I can do something to help you reach your goals ... but remember that the greatest resource you have is your own energy and imagination. Never stop trying!

Read lots of articles within Opera's Web Standards Curriculum, which supports essential learning and understanding of HyperText Markup Language, Cascading StyleSheets, JavaScript, Accessibility, SVG and the other great topics needed to be a modern-day, super-hacker of web development and design. :jester:

Good piece of article, it is helpful for those who studies through internet and its big and vast library of open source materials. Other than aforementioned sites, there are numerous other sites which provide study materials absolutely free. As an example, in India there is an govt agency named NPTEL which provides lecture notes, video lectures of Engineering subjects by IIT faculties. I am also a teacher and I teach Mechanical Engineering and Physics. I also run a blog that contains lecture notes primarily for students of the UPTU. Like me, there are other teachers who write blogs and adding lecture notes and videos and audios.
