Everything Guy Kawasaki did not know about Opera

Today we had a visit at Opera HQ by Guy Kawasaki, a well known public speaker, author and responsible for marketing the Macintosh in 1984(!). Recently he has been involved in creating an RSS aggregator site called Alltop.

We had a chat with the entrepreneur, and it turns out that there were a few things he did not know about Opera:

Opera Mini is the world's biggest mobile browser which will help you save money by compressing Web sites up to 90% (phew!).

That's right. Mr. Kawasaki was shocked when he discovered that he had to pay up to $5.00 for every MB he downloaded during his stay in Norway. Luckily for him, Opera Mini uses only a tenth of the bandwidth of other browsers, compressing Web pages by up to 90%. That means you can surf more for less money.

Opera Mini on a 2G network is as fast as Safari on 3G.

Extend your battery life on your iPhone by disabling 3G and experience the same speed you get when browsing with Safari on a 3G network. Pretty cool!

Wait? I can synchronize bookmarks and stuff on Opera Mini?

Correct. Using Opera Link, a special Opera Mini folder is created where you can synchronize your bookmarks and Speed Dial from your PC/Mac to a mobile phone running Opera Mini. Check out our tutorial to get started.

Opera has powerful Web applications?

Sure we do! They are called Opera Widgets and Opera Unite.
