Vote Opera Today

The Readers' Choice Awards 2011 hosted by About.com is still going on (voting ends March 8). Opera is a finalist in five categories, and we have a chance to win in at least four categories. Since voting started back in February, thousands of users have voted on their favorite software application. We're not trailing far behind to win in the "Best Major Desktop Browser" category. Only 3,000 votes are currently separating Chrome (which is leading at the moment) from Opera (we're in third).

If you haven't voted yet, and would like to see Opera win, feel free to toss us your vote (tell your friends too)! You can also vote for Opera using multiple devices, such as Opera Mini. :sherlock:

  • TomislavThursday, March 3, 2011 5:25:16 PM

Voted for Opera in every category except Best iPhone/iPod touch Browser. I'm sorry to say this but Opera Mini on iPhone 4 is really bad, mostly because of low resolution. Please fix that!

  • eehsunThursday, March 3, 2011 7:09:28 PM

    200 votes to go!

  • SuntanaFriday, March 4, 2011 12:10:15 AM

I've never heard of that UC Browser.

  • Cutting SpoonFriday, March 4, 2011 6:07:27 PM

    UCweb is China-only I think....?

  • SuntanaFriday, March 4, 2011 6:30:39 PM

Ahhh! So, it didn't stand for Universal Chuck Browser or University of Chuck Browser, Eh? http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/LOL.gif -

  • Uncle MickFriday, March 4, 2011 7:23:49 PM

    http://www.ucweb.com/English/UCbrowser/

Web pages compressed on servers, tabbed browsing, download manager, url completion... sounds awfully familiar

  • Cutting SpoonFriday, March 4, 2011 8:04:19 PM

You may not have noticed, but there is a national habit of low-quality copycats of foreign products...

  • abdur92Friday, March 4, 2011 8:11:55 PM

Well, a copy is not EVER going to beat the original.
    Opera ftw.
Anyways, if we hit turbo, we can vote twice, so thats an advantage.
If you have Opera Mini, you can vote on there as well.

  • Uncle MickSaturday, March 5, 2011 10:58:30 AM

http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/Yahoo.gif - Opera leading the desktop category by almost 4000 votes.

And Opera Mini is gaining fast on that UC browser http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/ThumbsUp.gif -

  • André KolbSaturday, March 5, 2011 4:18:00 PM

Thats one crazy marketing campaign :O

  • Cutting SpoonWednesday, March 9, 2011 6:09:33 PM

The high number for UCweb is interesting....especially since the program is mostly used in just one country, which heavily restricts outside internet access....

  • abdur92Wednesday, March 9, 2011 10:18:50 PM

They do have 1,331,460,000 people in the country...

  • Cutting SpoonWednesday, March 9, 2011 10:28:30 PM

Well, that's true. But it skews the representation. Especially for mobile browsers, it became "China vs the World".

And the World seems to have lost this one. Troubling.

  • Kelisha G FerdinandsThursday, March 10, 2011 11:52:06 PM

I am trying to vote as many times possible as i want Opera mini to Win & Good Luck Guys you's deserve to Win. :wait: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
