What is "toilet browser"? I don't know about it. Firefox and Safari already there... hmm.
  • OğuzMonday, August 15, 2011 7:42:46 PM

Last picture show us the latest version of Internet Explorer. Yes, it is really latest technology.

But we all people use IE (toilet), many of them can see Fox and Chrome, some of them go on Safari and only few people go to Opera.

That IE chair should have the leg about ready to break.

Opera, we need a new build btw!

I think the last pic is gravely unfair to IE. I must confess especially IE9 on Win 7 can beat Opera in terms of speed when it comes to general everyday use.

I personally would be glad if the Image was changed. Nonetheless, IE < 8, is really a pain to work with anyways.

IE (any version including 9) cannot beat Opera. It's a fact that can't be changed.

  • Sami SerolaTuesday, August 16, 2011 6:45:39 AM

First one looks like a smoking hot fox but luckily it is not set on fire :sherlock:

Next one sure is shiny but looks rather unfinished to me. Chrome does not make cars go faster you know

Third one looks somewhat empty and peeps seem to to wait when the opera starts :p: I say some marketing could help

Fourth looks really dangerous :scared: If I would go to safari, I would also stay inside the car :worried:

Last one I would not touch even with a stick :yuck: No idea what it represents but surely it can't have nothing to do with internet and everything with a major explosion :pirate:

Taking in to account that opera gets more and more bugs and no any new functionality, think it should look like this:
    Firefox
    Chrome
    IE
    Safari
    Opera Desktop

Wrong. Despite a very few bugs with some desktop functionalities, the latest development snapshot is by far the best version of Opera ever.
And it's even not an alpha. A new parser which is already better than the old one has to be integrated. It will make Opera faster and less consumptive.

blast from the past, i'd say. :smurf:

opera + improved ie = win.
  • Matthew LaBrakeTuesday, August 16, 2011 11:35:10 AM

IE is good since IE9. But Microsoft is screwing over most of their users by making IE10 Windows 7-only. Opera ftw.

I stand by my point of view because I use IE9 on Win 7 as Opera, and although I use Opera 98% of the time, the few times I switch to IE9 for general browsing, it feels snappier at page loading that Opera. This might to due to a bug that was recently fixed with relation to initial network connection lags in Opera 11.50.

IE9 ain't all that bad so I don't think it should be treated unfairly, although I personally stand by Opera because it can do so much more than IE on a productivity level.

Opera HAZE bugs you say, what bugs there are no bugs in opera except that dragonfly, opera 11.50 is the best version and firefox is getting more and more useless to my opinion, firefox is the new IE and the improved IE is almost passing by chrome and safari, Opera is still the best webbrowser in the world, with opera is feels like knocking on heavens door all the time and getting almost god like experience while surfing on the web. anything is futile.

Well let's hope Opera gets better at fixing regressions. Fixing them faster, not neglecting them and preventing them better for example.

However, you'll find the same issue with most browsers. The Webkit team on the other hand handles things very well. But, they don't have a UI to directly deal with or all kinds of other features to deal with.

Opera gets new functionality all the time. Perhaps you mean specifically features that other browsers have had forever that Opera doesn't implement?

Anyway, the pic is all in good fun.

Who has an idea for imaging IE?
On the other hand m soft? toilet paper?
    Maybe not nice but usefull.

IE will always be IE, Opera will always be light years ahead. I take Opera in my flash drive and run it on many computers with diverse specifications and different connection speed, and it handles the change of environment better than other browsers. I feel more comfortable using it - almost everything built-in, bookmark sync between desktop computer and portable devices running Opera Mini (phones, tablets, etc), highly customizable, design for quick access to functions, elegant (not that important but looks awesome), great extensions. Maybe that's why many people believe (wrongfully) Opera is just for advanced users

Also, most people in the world not only use XP (IE9 and later being not available for this version of Windows), but also use a pirated XP. This is a problem when they should face frequent viruses or malware, and legal demands in case Microsoft detects the the installation is not authentic, especially on companies. In some places, pirated XP and now 7 is popular among both technicians who repair computers and ordinary people who reinstall the OS on their own after formatting their PCs. Opera, Chrome and Firefox have better systems to block ads and pop-ups that often malware come from. Even in an original XP install, IE remains a sharp pain in the back.

Maybe you keep to many tabs open in Opera? So of course opening a browser with no tabs will feel faster.

The newer version is getting much better in regards to speed.

They have one feature that I wish Opera had. They can control the rate at which tabs load after the browser is started, how many are done in parallel and can limit how many are loaded.

    Chrome
    Opera
