Holiday Calendar

It's that time of year again. The annual My Opera Holiday Calendar! This year Opera Engineers have pimped out Santa's sledge enabling time travel!

As usual there are prizes you can win. Each day we publish a new cartoon. If you get our daily quiz right, you might walk away with a brand new tablet or phone! For more information check out the Community Blog, or to go directly to the competition click here.

    Yay!
I really like these competitions. Every year I participate, every year I win something.
Last year I won a bag of norwegian chocolates.
Lets see what I'll win this year.

So, to take part in the competition you have to have a Facebook account in order to 'Like' Opera?
  • Thu WinThursday, December 1, 2011 6:26:04 PM

Yup the competation on Facebook is suck in a loop. However, I entered through the link on My Opera. If you want to get the link, give me £5 million :p:. Just joking  but anyways here's the link http://my.opera.com/community/competition/

WAIT, we have to be on Facebook to participate? I don't have Facebook. I don't think this is a good idea. Really, Opera, why?

@Giublosatta see my link above so you not need to use Facebook .

Edit: Looks like Opera included the direct link to the competation.

I know, I went there and the first thing it says is "Like us on Facebook for the daily cartoon and the daily quiz". How am I supposed to get to the quiz without going through Facebook?
  • Giuseppe BilottaFriday, December 2, 2011 11:34:00 AM

Oh wait, found the direct link at the top of the linked page. Sorry.

Still, the second part of the holiday quiz doesn't work!
  • Obese MauriceFriday, December 2, 2011 12:07:31 PM

    "Whoops!

We're very sorry, but an error occured."

No, as long as I work at Opera we will _NEVER_ do a force like thingy. It sucks donkey balls  Just follow the link in the community blog!
  • Damian SkoczylasFriday, December 2, 2011 1:40:28 PM

    Hi Aleksander,
Thank you for your answer. Could you also tell us why the contest page isn't working correctly? Every time I select a country and click "Next", the same page loads, so I select the country again, hit "Next" and, lo and behold, the country question page appears yet AGAIN. Yesterday, however, I managed to get past that "vicious circle", or loop to be precise, typed in my details and got the message "Whoops! We're very sorry, but an error occurred."

    What's going on?

Edit: Now that I've written this, the contest page has magically started to work properly. Natural perversity of inanimate objects, I suppose ;-).

This is a difficult contest to enter this year with several pages to flip through and sometimes needing a few attempts for the entry to be saved correctly. Again today it is not possible to enter as I'm being asked to enter yesterday's contest again and not today's.
