this method did not work, still unable to login..

    ---

    update:

Deleting ALL private data seemed to do the trick. This is a feature that should be fixed by Opera I would say..

The facebook login still does not work in 10.51 build 3315 on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. Will there be a fix for this any time soon?
I hate it to use Chrome for logging in to facebook.

Can any devs comment on this issue other than a workaround? It still occurs relatively often in 10.51

Just so it's said, I'm going through all the bugs mentioned here and making sure they are added to the internal bug tracking system!

  • Cutting SpoonFriday, March 26, 2010 4:36:12 AM

I think I've mentioned somewhere else, but this would sometimes happen in every build since the beginning of 10.x; normally I'd just log back in and reload a few pages, I've always wondered if part of this was Facebook's fault (since I only joined that pit recently).
  • Andy KnowlesFriday, March 26, 2010 10:21:42 AM

You need to use Quick find, the facebook cookies aren't all in the same place. I'd make sure you don't have a Facebook tab open and restart Opera once you've deleted them. Worked for me eventually.
  • redbulkoFriday, March 26, 2010 4:55:40 PM

If it do not work for you, close ALL facebook tabs.

THen open preferences (not just page preferences but the menu preferences ctrl+F12)

Search for cookies containing facebook. Delete the b...es..
(there is quite a few cookies like login.facebook.com not just faceboook.com...)

    There you go...

@olusegun u must enter full site if u don't want to upload thru mms, open touch site, then go down to the bottom u'l see full site open it,click on ur profile, then click again on ur pix or that ur picture space, then u wil see edit photos, change profile pix, click change profile pix then again go down, dont use the flash player somethin..use the one u'l see 'u can upload jgh, gph, pictures,u'l see "no file" under it,open it select whether ur pix is in ur phone memory or card memory, then mark the security agreement, then click upload, its simple brother.

Hi, I already did follow all the instructions, but before to update the browser, this gadget was working pretty good. No matter how many times I clear facebook cookies and even the Opera community cookies. It doesn´t work for me. In fact, before to watch the solution, that was the first thing I did. Clear all cookies. In the meantime this issue is solved, I´ll go back to Opera 10.50.
  • ThebisiMonday, March 29, 2010 8:55:59 AM

    Its cool
  • Wally Hernandez A.Monday, March 29, 2010 12:50:55 PM

Well my friends, I had roll back to my earlier version of Opera 10.50,but now the problem persist. Can´t not connect to facebook any more. So I hope this bug could be fixed soon. Opera is my favorite browser. Since 9.0 version, I have been working without any problems until now. I like to run every day because of Opera´s email client and the Bittorrent.
  • ThebisiMonday, March 29, 2010 11:01:50 PM

I hope it will resolve soonest

    Wow 2 great
  • Cutting SpoonTuesday, March 30, 2010 5:36:37 PM

Perhaps a part of this is related to language settings?

It seems that non-native-english speakers are more commonly experiencing this issue, could there be an issue with cookies that contain text in other languages?
  • olusegun obasamaTuesday, March 30, 2010 10:35:47 PM

im lookin 4ward to ve one system
  • Wanty01Wednesday, March 31, 2010 12:13:59 PM

TO EVERYONE: Download the programme CCLEANER and start it. In this programme delete all Opera cookies and after that try to login on Facebook:-)... WORKING:-) bye
  • Wally Hernandez A.Thursday, April 1, 2010 2:57:21 AM

I already did everything. This issue has nothing related to non english speakings. As I said before, I did roll back to the previous version that was working fine and connected to social networks, but once installed the 10.51 Opera version, start the problem. So I go to my facebook with Firefox, while my opera is working with the mail client background. Do not desperate, what did you do, before Opera offer this application..???
We only can encourage to Opera staff to solve this problem or, hmmm, I going to test something. My facebook is connected always in my others browsers. I am going to uncheck the remember me function and try again. Who knows??? if work, sure I'll be back to let all you know.
  • MoonThursday, April 1, 2010 4:45:28 PM

Doesn't seem to be working for me.
  • Wally Hernandez A.Friday, April 2, 2010 4:29:48 AM

I am back. Theres nothing else that I can do. Seems to be a bug
in this release. I thought that uninstalling and reinstalling, perhaps could work, but is worst. Now I receive an error from net, that, tired to try, obviously I didn´t take note.
What a shame, Opera make browse an navigate with Firefox. It is a good browser but Opera really go faster.
    :bug:
  • suvrajatSunday, April 4, 2010 6:47:11 PM

i tried evety thing that is mentioned here...no use....still haveto use firefox for facebook.....!!!!

cmon devs...you have made a superb piece of browser....you can sure fix this bug....but do it quick.....PLEAseeeeeee
  • Cutting SpoonMonday, April 5, 2010 1:12:18 AM

See, this is why I'm convinced the problem is related to support for other languages. Opera's been struggling with this in the unix side, perhaps cookies with non-english content are causing trouble?
  • pAMSY JAY $$$. AkA TÛMÎLAR-JAYDØLLAR.Monday, April 5, 2010 7:55:41 AM

My experience tonight - one 1st has to delete all the facebook cookies, problem is they don't all start with "facebook....", so I then had too scroll through the entire bloody list looking for them all. Then I had to delete all the facebook tabs/windows, & close Opera. It's a good idea then to check the task manager to see if there's another Opera process running in the background, & if there is shut it down. Then I re-opened the Opera installation that I was running before & went to the Facebook page & successfully logged on. I assume that should hopefully do the trick for you all that are having problems in this regard too.
  • Relena2002Thursday, April 8, 2010 6:29:43 AM

you are a lifesaver!! thanks, it worked!!!
  • Peter BlakeFriday, April 9, 2010 3:10:53 AM

  • nic niccTuesday, August 3, 2010 2:55:42 PM

i can log in fine, but a few weeks ago 'home','wall','profile' buttons disappeared from top right.
i can only access it thru ie or firefox.which means one of my speed dials is worthless.anyone?
  • gregorcnTuesday, August 10, 2010 1:07:19 PM

could the problem be connected to which country you login from? I recently relocated from Asia to Europe. Login in worked in the former but just now fails again in the latter. I tried deleting all personal data but to no avail.

This post is almost half a year old and still no solution?

    ...
