Interview with Jon at Techie Buzz

Techie Buzz featuring Jon

As the year is coming to an end, Pallab De of Techie Buzz wraps it up featuring an interview with Opera's co-founder; Jon S. von Tetzchner.

It's a great read with a thrilling question: "If you were asked to use any browser other than Opera for 24 hours, which browser would you pick and why?". The answer might not be that suprising, but hey... Who can blame him? :p:

Anyway, check out what Opera’s Co-Founder had to say on Extensions, Competition, Web TVs and More.

Opera browser has made me what Iam on my mobile. Yes! Iwould try google too; but its like asking: 'the hen and the egg, which came first!?' Very rhetorical.

A couple of items were especially interesting. Nice to know that Opera has benefited from pulling its core developers closer together, outsourcing seldom ends well.

I like to know what Mobile Operation systems you are going to support in the future

    Windows Phone 7?
    Bada?
    WebOS?
    Blackberry QNX?

They have much growth potential you know

I think only Mini can be run on WP7. And only then if it can be ported into Silverlight markup. WinCE7 is coming, so we'll see what can be done with that.

    Bada needs time.

WebOS needs....well, it needs a lot of things.

The new Blackberry OS is a promising target for sure. Lots of corporate users, lots of dataplans. Quite possible some of Opera's customers for corporate services may want this.
