This may be the year the web grew up, but when are people going to wake up?

We need more articles like these which explains the importance web standards and how to code sites the proper way.

How about a blacklist of the most common offending sites and programs, so that we can boycott them or pester the devs pull up their socks?

It'd be cool if Opera and other browsers implement some sort of an automatic standards validation feature wherein the adherence level of the site you're visiting is displayed in the status. Something to the tune of 'The site you're trying to view doesn't respect web standards. Click here to know more' - upon which, the user is led to a page explaining in brief the importance of standards and what he/she should do (complain to the webmaster, etc).
