Is there any chance to see an improved Opera Notes?

April 28, 2009 · by Jon S. von Tetzchner

Is there any chance to see an improved Opera Notes with full BBCode/HTML compatibility?

The main purpose with notes is a very simple system for taking notes, particularly in relations to Web content. Using Link this becomes even more useful. Styling has not been a focus, but I guess that as we have added styled mail, enabling styled notes is an option for the future.

    No need for styled notes. There's already online tools that accomplish that: Google Notebook, NotePub, Springnote, threetags.com, Zoho Notebook. The only thing I'd add to Opera's Notes is searchability within each note.

    Go on notes. It is needed navigating through the notes (forward, back...) and maybe tabs notes too!! ...text format, and links to the web.

    if I look for alternative for Outlook, i have M2
    if I look for good alternative for OneNote, I need to have HTML Notes.....

    I'd love to see the same html editing as was applied to Mail now applied to notes. If it is as easy to turn it on/off as with mail, then why not open up that option?

    I use notes extensively for all sorts of things, given the ease at which they can be organised, what is missing is full control over the text.

    As stated, it works like a charm where supposed to;
    dare I put one small feature request/idea out there anyways?
    Apparently.

    Opt-in "non-linky" notes, or some other means of being stupid with style...
    (the practicality of Opera notes vs. security....*cough*).

    Two cents given.
