It works differently than the other browsers

January 22, 2010 · by Espen André Øverdahl

Here's a cool Opera story by Computerworld review editor Barbara Krasnoff:

"I'm writing this on an online document management site using the Opera 10 browser. Interesting, you may murmur. How long has she been an Opera fan? The answer: About three hours. I'm simply somebody whose computer has decided to go wonky -- and who can't get on the Web using anything but Opera."

How did this happen?? Read the full story.

Is it conceited to say that it just works better? I'd say not.

I wonder if it's Windows Vista where this can happen. I just bought laptop with Vista on it, and I was not able to get anywhere else but Google Web sites with IE and Firefox. Never before seen such a odd thing to happen

I didn't waist my time trying to find a solution, and I did not try Opera on Vista. Instead I installed my favorite OS Ubuntu, where's no such problems.

Although, I'm using Opera on all of my devices anyway

Her story is not dissimilar to how I discovered Opera 8 years ago - it was the only thing not blocked by a misconfiguration of our company firewall. Never looked back

Yeah, it just doesn't seem to break or destabilize the system. At least for those of us that use Windows. Can't say the same for my experience with Firefox and Safari, while my beef with Chrome is that it can't do any heavy lifting. (lots of tabs)

Using Opera was my best experience... My world was like a nightmare in other browsers and then when I installed Opera again and started to use it, all of those bad things and the age of using buggy, crashy, crazy, goddamned, unstable, slow browsers finished (esp. that damned fox which fires and eats your cpu and ram's power and speed and then shows its middle finger to you before crashing and destroying all of your work... :bomb: )

In these years, Opera gave me peace and composure and I feel the way I never been before... :coffee:

Opera has everything I need; Mail, Chat, fast and stable browsing, everything... I use Opera products everytime, everyday, everywhere and I'll use them forever...

Opera is really the best browser in the world and is going to be better everyday... :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

YES IT IS ! 'cause many would like to see many sites which use NON standard code working 'better' ...Opera may hold the record for less crashes that any other browser though

    I really prefer Opera

Her "partner" probably has a thumbdrive. Big surprise, right? I'm just fascinated that this even worked.

No kidding. I used to like Firefox a lot, but I right now only have 128 MB of ram and IE and/or Firefox come stops responding to any commands. :yikes: :furious:

Opera is(was?) capable of running YouTube on a Win9x machine with 32MB ram, current 10.10 (Unite and everything!) works fine with as little as 64MB. It is ideal for old PCs and virtual machines. And now it is speeding up on modern hardware.
