Movember winners

December 8, 2011 · by Anna Rohleder

The votes are in, and it's tempting to say the winners won by a whisker, but there are just too many for that! We hereby present our gallery of Movember winners and outstanding participants:

Best real moustache: seaempty

This long-standing member of My Opera from the UK deserves special mention for spearheading the Movember movement this year: not only starting the Movember Mo Bros group, but also faithfully documenting his progress toward greater degrees of moustachedom by uploading a photo of himself every day. When he's not pursuing such intense personal grooming efforts, seaempty holds down a demanding day job as Minister of Justice while also contributing news and reviews to Overjoid, the blog for all things Android-related - among other activities!

Best fake moustache: Olgita

Although Olga titles her blog "Olgita's Modest Notes," her talents are anything but that. Not only does she write in both Russian and English, but we also have to admire her artistic flair in everything from her photos to the jewelry she makes herself. It was just this creative spirit that added an extra dimension to our Movember contest.

Honorable mentions go to participants Uncle Mick, El Mustasho, Jayvee and Phillip Robert O'Conner for keeping the spirit of Movember going all month long.

Thanks to everyone for participating!

Wow! Thanks Opera I'm dead chuffed! It was an interesting month, but a team of us at work participated, and we managed to raise over £600 for the cause. Made the embarrassment and itchiness worth it

Well done seaempty and Olgita

I really enjoyed taking part in Movember, even if I was a little late starting

And my mo' continues to grow. I plan on keeping it.
