Opera at Gamescom 2011

August 22, 2011 · by Espen André Øverdahl

Gamescom is a huge trade fair for video games held annually in Cologne, Germany. We sent Arnstein down there for some serious business. We're seriously dedicated for gaming in the future, and we can't wait to share more news with you soon. Anyway, here are some pictures from Gamescom:
Opera at GamescomPeople entering and exiting the premises of all things holy for gamers.
Opera at GamescomBattlefield 3 jet plane and Top Gun wannabees.
Opera at GamescomPrototype 2. Now with even more popped collar.
Opera at GamescomArnstein with Link and Zelda. Sorry for the blurry image. We suspect the guy who took this picture had way too much coffee/Red Bull.

    Nice photos!

Personally, I can't wait for "Aliens: Colonial Marines" and "Batman: Arkham City". And of course: "RAGE", developed by the Godfathers of PC gaming: id Software

RAGE seems interresting. Alien games tend to have awesome single player stuff, but they fall through the ground with balance issues in multiplayer limiting the re-play value.

Are you putting the "Software" in Opera Software(outside of browsers) soon by making your own games built into the browser? The status bar is so empty in the middle. Buttons that go straight into certain Opera made games, could be placed on the status bar. Don't allow them to be played unless someone has the Opera browser. Exclusive games = Market share = Opera takes over world. Do it. <3
