Opera at Night

September 12, 2012 · by Espen André Øverdahl

Outside our new headquarters in Oslo, Norway, we just put up a huge Opera icon that illuminates at night. Pretty cool! Our building is now even easier to spot if you ever decide to drop by for a visit!

When this first appeared a few days ago it really surprised me. I must have missed the announcement. It does look pretty cool though, especially at night.

I'm a little surprised that Opera didn't illuminate the sign from the *inside*, since that would give a glowing effect at night. Also, it might be more energy efficient (and illumination sources like industrial grade LED are also extremely long-lasting/low-maintenance, too). And why not put photovoltaic into the equation too, with cells on the rooftop charging batteries for the nighttime...

In such a dismal building people create such awesome design as the opera browser.
