Opera Fingertouch

March 5, 2009 · by EspenAO

Today we introduce Opera Fingertouch, a technology designed to make interacting with the Web easier and simpler on touch-based devices. Opera Fingertouch provides visual feedback when you hit a Web link, and assists you when you come across multiple links or other selectable elements in close proximity to one another.

To see Opera Fingertouch in action today, download the new beta version of Opera Mobile for Symbian UiQ, check out the video demo below, or read the labs article.

Great stuff! Now, please patent this innovation before Apple or M$ steal it & claim it as their "innovative new feature"...
haavard5. March 2009, 20:12:08
Even if it's patented, Opera won't use patents to attack the competition. Take a look at the patents section here:

Nice! Hoping this will work its way into Opera Mini, 'cause that's one of the big frustrations I have with it on my G1 - Android's built-in browser is much more responsive to touch, and I frequently have to resort to the trackball on Opera Mini.
