Opera Mini 5 sure is slick

May 21, 2010 · by Espen André Øverdahl

Openbook is a site which gathers information from Facebook and makes it publicly available. For us, it can be useful to search for what users are saying about Opera. Check out Jack Tyler, who thinks that Opera Mini 5 is slick. Good stuff!

It is indeed really slick .

By the way: Any news/updates on Opera on Android so far?
  • Pallab DeFriday, May 21, 2010 8:36:59 AM

It's definitely slick. But, now I have an Android phone and I crave for OMobile.

    Me too and it's awesome.
I'm just wondering when we will see a final version of it.

Unfortunately I cannot say it's slick

On my SE K750i (vodafone optimizied, installs as "Internet" app), when compared with Mini 4, Mini 5 is quite slower (UI reaction), buggy (it crashes too often to be used)

This forces me to continue using Mini 4.

I remember an interview with Jon von Tetzchner, where he proudly showed an SE K750i, saying that "even on this 4-yr-old phone" Mini (by then 4) runs nice.

I doubt if he would ever say the same for Mini 5 on SE K750i

Well, I guess the time moves on. In any case, Mini 5 seems targeted at a higher class of regular phones than before...

Btw same goes for desktop Opera 10.5+...

Beta is buggy both on client and server sides. Already submitted some bug reports, nothing is changed much.

I have a Motorola V9. When using Opera 5, I can't open my messages when on Tagged.com. I never had that problem using Opera 4.

They would hunt and echo any feedback that Mini 5 is slick.
But I doubt they would do the same for bugs  :p:

It is the point. You can't expect too sucky phones to run OM5, just like the sucky phones that were out when OM4 was released couldn't run that.

@prd3, you are telling me things I already said myself in the same comment:
