I think a fantastic news, I finally have my iPhone in my favorite browser. If I miss something since I have the iPhone is my precious Opera mini I used when I was nokia.
Please let it be soon.
Best regards

At last!!!!

Will it support punch-to-zoom?
I read that it doesn't support it yet, but as that's one of the things that made the iPhone popular (and which is indeed a great feature), it would be a real bummer (and lack of important functionality) if it didn't have it in a (possible) final version.

I really hope you have included Opera Link in Mini 5, or give some other way to access Notes. I know I can access it from the web but its just not simple enough.

I'm pretty sure that most phones are not built to take such abuse.

Sounds like you never held an iphone in your hands: 'pinch to zoom' is one of the greatest features of the iphone, one of the reasons why it became so popular, and the most important reason why browsing on the iphone is a way better user experience than with almost all the other so called smartphones.
Also, all important iphone apps (build-in and optional) support it, like e.g. Safari, photo viewer, text readers etc. etc.
I cleave to the veracity of my prior response. As for the use of an adaptive PINCH-zoom, it certainly has not been very good on most new laptops that support it. I think the problem in this case, is mostly that Opera's columnar reformatting algorithms fit each column to the reported width of your screen.
Pinch-zoom would probably only happen if they released Mobile for the i-*blank*, and only then if Mobile became feasible.

Well, as we're here in the 'Opera for iPhone' topic, I am talking about the iPhone, and for the iPhone I consider pInch to zoom essential.

What's the progress on Opera for iPhone? I just searched on itunes apps and didn't find anything. Is there a release date for it or anything? Would love to have another option for web browsing. Please oh please let us know!

An Opera spokesperson said it would be weeks, not months, so expect is in March or early April.

I'd still like to know whether there are plans to implement 'pinch to zoom' functionality (or maybe it's already in?).

I got an Iphone, though i don't use Safari. I prefer opera to any other browser. As a remark to apple saying they don't want another browser on their phone. Well there are at least 4 browsers at the app store. Tried them, don't use them. Think these browsers suck.
Buy an Iphone, just for opera. What a waist. The Iphone has many apps for it. The best app i think is zombie farm, and bowling. lol There's a challenge.
