seriously BADA os is just another mobile OS that will not last for more than a year, just like WebOS, currently there are simply too many different mobile systems

Awesome! The mobile browser and the opera 11 excite me very much
Jim Brown14. October 2010, 17:00
Great! Been waiting a year with my phones and android tablets... now something that can actually compete with Xscope which reminds me a bit of Opera...
Bela Lubkin14. October 2010, 17:41
What is the distinction between Opera Mobile & Opera Desktop?
Now that we are all walking around with cell phones more powerful than a Cray 1, will Opera be porting the full desktop browser to the major OSes like Android & iOS?
Adel14. October 2010, 17:52
great news
theclockman14. October 2010, 17:54
Will there be pinch-to-zoom for WM6? Not having it in OM on the HD2 kinda sucks...
Eduardo Maio14. October 2010, 20:26
At last! The only thing I was missing from my Windows Mobile device was Opera Mobile, been using Opera Mini on the Android but it isn't the same.
gatorguy14. October 2010, 21:12
Will it run Java Applets?
Chris14. October 2010, 21:32
So will this be Opera Mobile 10.1 that is also in beta for Symbian?
Superrrrrdurt!14. October 2010, 21:53
YEAH! I've been waiting for this.

Hmm, could you post a link? I somehow didn't find any article claiming the pattent would have been lost...
Panferno2252915. October 2010, 09:22
I would like to use this feature in Opera Mini on the iPod touch/ iPhone. :-)
btw: when will you realease anupdate for that app, so it supports the Retina-Display of the iPhone 4/ iPod touch 4G?
Nicolas15. October 2010, 14:03
And about the widgets like on Windows Mobile ?

It's my personal opinion. I can't see how they will be able to defend this patent if it comes to a lawsuit. And for Opera Mobile it doesn't matter I think as we are using a feature on the phone. It's a much larger problem for manufacturers who want to have the same controls on non-mac hardware. I don't like how Apple operates when it comes to lawsuits. I'd rather see everyone adopt Opera's patent-free vision: http://www.opera.com/company/vision/
Usman Umar15. October 2010, 16:30
dat gud can wait to c it
Siam Sabbir15. October 2010, 17:45
Opera should say hello to the new born bada OS. At least with the opera mini release. anyway what about the update of the java mini 5.1 version? When it'll be available next?

Yes

No :-)

will it optionally feature classic opera zooming abilities - single-tap switching between inactive overall view and active zoomed view to preset zoom level. it was much better than pinch zoom... especially together with fingertouch (nearby elements)
No features will be removed. Pinch zoom feature is in addition to that.
orvice16. October 2010, 08:35
Great,i wait 4 it.
dupel16. October 2010, 09:24
Well, from what I can understand most likely first beta for android will only feature pintch to zoom, as HW accel wont be ready just yet.
What about JIT, VEGA and carakan?
manish kathuria16. October 2010, 17:09
waitin 4 it..
Carol16. October 2010, 19:33
will Opera Mobile for android only work on 2.0 phones? If this is posted elsewhere, my bad
Asmawu Ibrahim16. October 2010, 21:30
All the best
Superrrrrdurt!16. October 2010, 22:59
Will there be an option 2 set landscape or system default view? I liked that very much on Opera Mini beta for Android.
Al Garcia17. October 2010, 01:32
This is great news. When I used s60 I installed both Opera Mini and Opera Mobile for different reasons, but the one I used most was Opera Mobile. It's more reliable, feels more like the real thing. Now we will have the real thing on Android and that's awesome.
