Opera Space edition

April 1, 2010 · by Aleksander Aas

Opera launches special features developed under the Future Opera Operations in Lunar Surroundings program. Due to the classified nature of these innovations, access to the beta strictly controlled and limited.

Some features being tested:

  • INTP Support allowing long-range connectivity with the Internet using the Interplanetary Network Transport Protocol.
  • ARB browsing to render Web content in a transparent overlay mode that is compatible with Visual Retinal Displays (VRDs) or Heads-up Displays (HUDs).
  • Classified UI The browser detects gloves and zooms in to allow precision selection within the user interface.

Check out www.opera.com/portal/inspace/ for more information on how to join the closed test group.

I found ice in Moon. When handling the ice under direct sun light, the ice melted in my gloves. My selbuvotter became wet at first and then covered with frost when working in shadow. My problem is that the glove detector became much less accurate because of frost, and I keep on getting wrong links opened. Is there any solution for this?

Moreover, I would like to know what would be the right MyOpera forum and bug report wizard for any further Opera Space Edition related issues.

BUG: Despite statements to such effect, Space Edition does NOT install on Apple Time Machines or Time Capsules. Space Edition is also no longer capable of AirPort functionality, which was present in the last release. Product may only be used with the Jobs Star, the Extragalactic Jesus Phone, and most (but not all) products in the Mac Attack Fleet.

Please update your holography and embed new cues into the Universal Swedish Cube Help File (alt.bork.bork.bork)
  • Martin1. April 2010, 22:50

    Nice one.

FYI here in Argentina the equivalent to your April's Fools is the 28th of December or as we know it "el dia de los Inocentes".... just in case.
  • Pariah2. April 2010, 06:56

Nice and understated this year but of course, nothing compares to Face Gestures..that was EPIC!
  • Serola2. April 2010, 08:04

You should have fooled all desktop Opera users to try the similar "long press" feature as on Opera Mini 5 :D It works, just hold down the mouse button long enough...
  • Lukas2. April 2010, 09:13

I'd love to participate, however I'm already a beta tester for Internet Interplanetary Explorer IIE :/
