Opera university roadshows in China

In mid-December, after the Kongzhong-Opera 2 launch, some Opera China team members went to Guangzhou again, bringing Opera Mini to college students there. This time, instead of having a few drinks with Opera users, we held big roadshows and hosted cool games.

3 roadshows were arranged in the university area of Guagnzhou. We set up a little fun-park where people could see some college girls dancing, as well as hip-hop performances. There were also interactive games with prizes for the winners. People competed by posing their bodies to spell out "O" "P" "E" "R" "A" and others played a trivia game where they answered questions about Opera Software. The basket(ball) shooting game was really popular as well. I guess they all dream of being an NBA star.

Of course, we set up a product "Experience Zone" for Kongzhong-Opera, where people could instantly download and install Opera Mini. There were always queues of people in front of the Experience Zone, waiting for the chance to bring the full Internet to their phones. It was quite pleasant to see college guys and girls helping each other out with downloading and installing Opera Mini. Furthermore, people who installed Kongzhong-Opera at the event were given a chance to win a prize. We did a random drawing, and the winners received Nokia phones.

Thousands of college students came to participate. They really seemed to enjoy the show we put on, and Kongzhong-Opera as well. During the event, I even heard a girl phoning her friends, telling them to come and enjoy the party.

So how does it feel to use Kongzhong-Opera?

"I never expected mobile internet to be this fast! But with Kongzhong-Opera, it seems that I don't have to suffer from sluggish connections any longer," a student who just installed Kongzhong-Opera told me, looking happy and surprised.

Great news! Opera seems to be the most 'public' browser! Am I right?
