Say "Oui" to Opera
We were pleased to hear that last weekend, more than a dozen Opera friends and fans gathered in the heart of Paris for their very own "Opera Café." From what we gather, it was quite a varied afternoon. Friends took the opportunity to catch up, talk about browsing, exchange tips and tricks, and nibble on hors d’œuvre. There was even a demo of Opera Mobile/Mini on several different tablets and phones.
Apart from being longtime Opera users, what most of those in attendance had in common was a technical background and a fondness for the color red (especially on t-shirts!).
In some cases, they were continuing conversations that had started on the forums. In other cases, the discussion concerned favorite features, past and present, as well as speculation on what is to come in our next release.
If you speak French, you can find out about more events like this, as well as other news and views, when you follow the French Opera users' blog. While you're at it, check out the Francophone Opera Wiki too. We're always very happy and proud to learn about volunteer initiatives like this. ![]()
If you're an Opera fan who wants to organize a meetup in your part of the world, please let us know!

Yes! I loved "Midnight in Paris" especially when Owen Wilson says to Rachel McAdams, "It is perfectly fine for your father and I to disagree, that’s what a democracy is [all about.] Your father defends the right wing of the Republican party and I happen to think you have to be like a [bloody freakin,] demented lunatic [to think that way.] Doesn’t mean we don’t respect each other’s views."
