Some of our Favorite Responsive Websites

Responsive Web Design

These days, we're getting online from a wider variety of devices than ever before, from phones, computers and tablets, to hybrids like laplets, tabtops, and everything in between. But not all sites on the web are responsive, meaning they look and act the same on different devices.

That's why we wanted to single out some websites that do responsive web design (RWD) right - delivering a great experience regardless of whether you're using the big screen of a computing workstation or the small screen of your phone. (The following list is based on sites collected on Media Queries - head over there if you want to see even more great examples of RWD!)

Okay, this one's mainly for demonstrating the principles of responsive web design, but we still love the gnawing sense of uncertainty behind the question: "robot...or not?". Not to mention that this particular form of binary choice-making takes us back to the days of Hot Or Not before it became a dating site -- or Monkey Hot or Not, if you're partial to non-human primates.
Even if you're not from Beantown yourself, you can still enjoy the digital version of the newspaper: download a free e-cookbook, or just indulge in the minor novelty of viewing the weather in Fahrenheit.
Does a cat count as a hat? How about a paper bag? (Maybe it's time for someone to launch "hat or not?") These are the moments when we fall in love with the internet all over again.
Most foodie websites seem a trifle too otaku for us, but this one offers a good balance of information, inspiration and pictures.
By now, TEDTalks have become a worldwide phenomenon of broadcasting big ideas. We like the Do Lectures for their emphasis on inspiring regular people to go out and take action in the world.

Do you have any favorite responsive websites of your own? Please share them in the comments!

Nice. http://dolectures.com/ was the best for me.

By the way - my tiny site http://www.psychoterapia-babicz.pl bases on responsive theme too, but has problem when resizing on mobile :-( (tested on latest Opera Mini..). So, I discovered there is still room for making improvement.
