Super HTML5 Mario!

August 8, 2011 · by Aleksander Aas

Infinite Mario

As proud members of the Nintendo Generation we love anything Nintendo related. Imagine our joy when we came across this amazing HTML5 port of Super Mario!

The HTML5 code Robert Kleffner used to create this game, is actually a port from a Java version by the rock star indie game developer Markus Persson, famous for Minecraft. Enough geeklove? Check out Infinite Mario in HTML5!

Still a little buggy, that one. Or is it just me?
I don't experience any music at all (sfx and death-music are fine) and the Powerups don't do anything for me, Mario stays the same after the Powerup-Animation. Also, I can't pick up shells, they disappear in my hands.

I'm sorry guys, but it seems it doesn't work properly in Opera...and it's not the first javascript/HTML5 based game that has this issues...in other browsers, however, the game works much better, yet still uncomparable to flash based games...anyway, HTML5 is the future, all it needs is time for development and our support ;-). Cheers

Boy. I have some audio issues with that. In Chrome, there's a nasty sound when Road Rash loads. In Opera, there's not, but playing the game makes audio in other tabs distort. In Firefox, all is good.

The game works fine otherwise in Opera though.

I played it on Opera 11.50; the newest version of Safari; the newest version of Windows Internet Exploder; Google Chrome; and, last but not least - the incredible malware dispenser, known as Firefox. I have yet to try it on Lunascape (has anyone checked that browser out? Let me know on my home page here). Winner(s):
    Safari
    Opera
Opera glitches a bit. So does Safari, but it doesn't stop the game flow.
    My two cents. :pssst:

Opera's html5 test is still below Chrome, etc.
How can you blog so much about html5 without being on top in that regard?

That's an extremely ignorant comment. The site "html5test.com" is not trustworthy at all. It tests all sorts of other crap that isn't html5, and assigns scores randomly.

Opera has excellent html5 support, so stop worrying about it. And even if it didn't, why shouldn't they be able to post about it? :troll:
