Terror in Oslo

July 23, 2011 · by Espen André Øverdahl

Oslo and Norway was on Friday hit by a terrible terrorist attack. More than 90 people (majority of them under the age of 25) has been confirmed dead after the bomb explosion at Regjeringskvartalet, a cluster of buildings close to the national Parliament, and the shooting massacre which took place at Utøya during a youth rally by the The Workers' Youth League.

My Opera and Choose Opera is a website and community of users with interests in (Opera) browser and technology news, but in such a state of tragedy, browser news becomes trivial. We wish to use this opportunity to express our deepest sympathy for everyone affected by the tragedy which took place in Oslo and at Utøya on Friday.

Opera's head quarters are located in Oslo, 2 kilometers from where the bomb went off. To our knowledge, none Opera employees have been physically injured during the attacks.

The terrorist attacks was carried out by one or more twisted and extremist individuals. Do not judge or put hatred on innocent persons, groups or ideologies because of a few mad man's actions. Jens Stoltenberg, Norway's Prime Minister, expressed after the attacks that the answer to violence, is even more democracy. Even more humanity.
