Use Opera's Forms Manager to Save Time

October 4, 2012 · by Anna Rohleder

Opera Tips and Tricks

If you're using Opera on a computer, you can take advantage of the Forms Manager as a shortcut for some of the most common tasks you do on the web.

Whether it's shopping, booking travel or just registering for the first time as a user on a website, filling in your name and address doesn't have to be a repetitive task. Do it once in the Forms Manager and it will be a breeze forever after. Here's what you do:

From the main Opera menu, go to Settings -> Preferences, and then click on the Forms tab. This will bring up the Forms Manager window.

Enter your personal information in the window here and click OK.

Now the next time you need to fill in personal information on a web page, all you have to do is right-click into the field. Then you just select Insert Personal to choose what information you want to fill in.

By the way, you can also use this function for times when you aren't using forms, but still need to fill in personal information, whether it's an email, chat, or any other type of communication.

Problem is, it's totally gimped by not storing it's information in OperaLink.

Been trying to get this added to OperaLink for years, so it's tied to the OperaLink account... :-(

And it's like it hasn't improved in 10 years, too. It's far too primitive to be of serious use.

I've used the forms manager for years. Its convenient when it works. It doesn't recognize a lot of forms that it should to be useful
