Wanted: Russian Opera Mini user

November 1, 2007 · by thomas.ford

If you are a Russian Opera Mini user, have tried the new beta of Opera Mini 4, and would like to tell the world how awesome it is (and hopefully you feel that way), just drop me a private message. We are planning a big event in Moscow next week and would like some user testimonials to accompany our efforts.

No, it won't look anything like the Rock Opera event, but we've got something special planned, or rather the first of several special somethings. We have tens of millions of people using Opera throughout the country and we feel it's time to show how much we appreciate that support.

Does something alike is planning in Kyiv, Ukraine? Russian/Ukrainian users are a bit the same. And Ukraine has many Opera users over the world also :)

  • melnichuck2. November 2007, 18:24:19

FataL, yes I have the same problem with small fonts. It's because the phone doesn't have the version of the cyrillic font of this [small] size, I think... Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm switching to the Normal size when viewing cyrillic sites

Paternal, that in Opera Mini 4 beta3 mistakes has been eliminated. Now I use мини4 бета3 instead of an opera mini3

  • saintbyte4. November 2007, 08:18:22

Last beta can't complete installing at my se k750i but previous version work very good.

    Greetings from Yekaterinburg

  • dphilippov4. November 2007, 12:18:01

Hi, I'm a Russian OM4 beta user too). Works good on my Nokia E60. I have OM3 installed as well, so I can switch between them. OM3 is a bit faster, but in OM4 surfing becomes much more comfortable with its virtual mouse... yes! Would be nice to see a mobile version of M2 included someday... By the way, I'm a big Opera fan since version 5. Like many others, tried Mozilla & FF, Konqueror, Flock and, of course, IE with different add-ons... but Opera still answers my vision of web surfing completely. Rock on, guys!
    Best wishes from Moscow!

Thanks everyone for the information. I'll make another post on Choose Opera about the events...

@Fatal: Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I will make sure that people use the large fonts for now until we have a better solution.

    Hi,
I have tried several times installing the latest Opera Mini beta on my cx65 phone (firmware version SW50) and the result is always the same: the phone shuts down with a short beep. No error messages, no exceptions, it just blacks out as if the battery was removed.
This occurs during the Internet setup phase, when the indicator is at 60-70%.
Version 3 works Ok. I am using GPRS.
Hope this annoying behaviour is fixed soon.
    Best,
    xcw
