We like you so much better when you're naked

January 25, 2010 · by Aleksander Aas

Check out the "Opera Z1 Glass" skin by Z1-AV69. This new skin (for Opera 10.50 snapshots only) goes all out in terms of transparency effect in Opera 10.50:

Z1-Glass

How to make it work:

  1. Download the latest Opera 10.50 snapshot from the Desktop Team blog.
  2. Download the skin Z1-Glass to your skin folder.
  3. Select the skin from Tools » Appearance.
  4. Click this button to move all tabs to the left (it won't be all transparent if you have the tabs on top).

Auto install

Auto install - Requires the latest Opera 10.50 snapshot. Thanks to Lali!

This skin only works in works with Opera 10.50 on Windows Vista or Windows 7 with Aero support! Backup Opera before experimenting.

I don't want to mess up my PC at work, and I noticed there's no version for Linux available yet to try Opera 10.50 at home :awww:

That looks fantastic, I really like the idea of almost totally removing the surround of the web browser, just focusing on what page you are looking at. Excellent.

Now, THAT'S a skin! Using it in my customized xp, even without transparency looks great (and gray it's not even my favorite color). Here's a snapshot http://i406.photobucket.com/albums/pp148/sites-web-pt/sites_web_pt_15.png
  • vipin kumarMonday, January 25, 2010 10:34:24 PM

The skin is very nice, thank you.

one issue with the skin the speed dial "search button" , the text within the button is "invisible" and you cant see that due to high contrast.

  • nightweelsTuesday, January 26, 2010 12:22:29 PM

well, its magnificent in this style, still some little bugs to correct and when the tab bar moves left(i prefer right to see side bar wigets ^^) the tabs animation is disabled.and unite is not runing!!
  • Kid - Bếp nhỏTuesday, January 26, 2010 2:31:39 PM

    beautiful
  • Z1-AV69Tuesday, January 26, 2010 2:38:56 PM

@nightweels: Placing the tabbar on the right works even better than on the left. You don't need the button and can just put the tabbar to the right by it's right-click menu. On the right (thumbs enabled) transparency stays even after a restart.
  • D3ad3nd3dTuesday, January 26, 2010 2:51:08 PM

    its still not transparent
