Weird Opera ads

November 9, 2011 · by Espen André Øverdahl

Blessed with a generic name like Opera, we see a lot of advertisement for things that are not necessarily us, but could potentially be us (Oprah Winfrey anyone?).

We've received a couple of emails lately from you wondering if we're branching into the napkins, cookies or even shower head industry (the Opera shower head is even "Available in Chrome and Brushed Nickel finishes"). The answer is no, but maybe we should start producing something like this:

This one means "napkins for wet and dry cleaning of wood and plastic surfaces". Also a potential Opera mascot.

This is a Swedish Opera cookie which is "[...] made with love. But mostly with a blueberry and raspberry jam, vanilla cream and marzipan." Just the way we like it.

Do you have any local Opera brands to share?

The local Operas related to the theater, but it's hard to find anyway. The cookie looks yummy. :chef:

This summer, in an ice-cream parlour in Calasetta (Sardinia, Italy), I found a flavour called Opera. It was made with nuggets, almonds, pine kernels, pistachios, and nougat. I have a proof!!!

My girlfriend takes course to be a pâtissière (pastry chef) and she was about to bake a Opera cake and I told her to do a big red O on it because we're both fan of the Opera Browser but she couldn't. Would have been awesome if she could.

You should get her a frying pan in the shape of big O, for Christmas.
    That would be awesome.

Well, there is always Pegasus Software (http://www.pegasus.co.uk/) producing the Opera software. Something about accounting and hotel management I think.

They always make me react because my 2 most favorite pieces of software, and the very best of the best in their respective category are Pegasus Mail by the unstoppable David Harris (www.pmail.com) and of course that little unknown browser, Opera (www.opera.com)

At last I've managed to upload a wierd ad photo, but I don't know how to move it to here. Maybe the technical experts at Opera will do it so that everyone can see it. It's photo number 22 on my Photo album. I think it is quite funny because it is so cheesy. Lets see what anyone else thinks of it.
