Win a DuckDuckGo shirt!

January 6, 2012 · by Anna Rohleder

There are lots of reasons to celebrate having DuckDuckGo installed as a default search engine in Opera, starting with the sheer personality factor. Just look at that little guy!

Apart from that, it's a model Internet citizen, especially when it comes to privacy. DuckDuckGo doesn't track you, nor does it store personal information like IP addresses or user agents. It even lets you use URL parameters instead of cookies to store settings.

Because this is just too much good stuff to keep quiet about, we are spreading the word about DuckDuckGo by giving away t-shirts! For your chance to win one, click here to go to the contest that will test your level of DDG knowledge. The contest closes on January 16, so get ahead and get quackin'!

Good luck - or shall we say, good duck!

The questions were a piece of cake! I'm ready for my shirt. XL please. I like to hide my sags.

Try the Duck's IM bot on Jabber (XMPP). It's a fun little quacker.

    Hi,

Fine for me but why not Start Page:
    https://startpage.com/eng/

The "Duck" word and its logo isn't "cool" even, its rather infantile squared.

    Regards

I have seen a lot of problems with Google searches bring up pages that install the fake antivirus virus. I suspect DuckDuckGo.com will not return has much crud.

I'd love a TShirt. I've been playing with DuckDuckGo to see what common searches I use show as. It does indeed look promising and I've already set it as my default.

I've been using Opera since it would fit on a floppy disk. Yeah.. THAT LONG! It is my browser of choice and I have 11.60 installed as well as the 64-bit 12.00 alpha. I've seen then changes through the years but always been happy with the performance and compatibility. The Opera Team even responded to an issue I had personally, nearly 20 years ago. (Has it been that long?).. Long live Opera.

Great memory Rick! An Opera floppy was great for spontaneously infecting friends' computers with a great browser back when downloading apps was painful.

I remember when Opera finally got too large for a floppy and thinking "danged Opera getting OBESE!"
