64-bit and out-of-process plugins builds now available on Labs
You might think we're all quiet here just before Christmas - but head over to Opera Labs to see where the party is at! We're releasing an early build of the work in progress that will eventually make Opera more stable, secure and faster. Out-of-process plugins (OOPP) mean that Opera can shield itself from plugin crashes, and as a bonus we will be releasing 64-bit builds for Windows and Mac for the first time!
What are you waiting for? Get your fresh builds on Opera Labs. Builds released on Opera Labs will not interfere with your Opera Next install.

At the moment Linux/FreeBSD users sometimes suffer as our old implementation was quite different to the other two platforms and hence we had a few unique bugs that only affected us.
This is not to say that there won't still be platform specific bugs, there always are but it is better that the implementations are as similar as possible across desktop platforms.

The ability to have 32bit plugins ina 64bit browser is really good, nice to see Opera doing this, as Firefox, Chrome all require messy ways to achieve this with wrappers.
Will be trying the x64 Win builds later.
Do these bits of work have targets? (12 Beta?)
Is the Labs release inline with the current 12 snapshot, newer or older?

images = BLUR!
что за *бучая ошибка, а? 64 битная опера - ну чудо и здорово, но почему картинки мутятся? что, всем всеравно? это что, так сложно исправить?

Is it supposed to say 32? I'm running the 64 bit version on Win7 64.

You can see which plugin it is from opera:plugins. In 64-bit Opera, Architecture: Native means the plugin is 64-bit as well.

Performance seems pretty good though (of course with disabled HWA).
Edit: Well seems font smoothing is off when using Opera in 64bit mode, in 32bit everything's fine! So we got a first bug. And second: Skin colours don't work clean again, when having the tabbar on the left with previews enabled the skin colour is only applied on 0,5mm of the bar, next to the website content.
Edit2: Peacekeeper also does not complete, stops at the first physics test.

Why does Opera not release memory adter tabs being closed, does it remember content for next visit? How it can be disabled?
-PLayed 4 youtube.com videos, memory usage was about 158Mb(Opera plugin wrapper)
-Closed all tabs.
-Memory usage reduced to 148Mb (Opera plugin wrapper)
Not even a single tab is open now in Opera but;
Memory usage (~400Mb Opera main process)+ Opera plugin wrapper (~148MB)

Not sure if this is just from this one, or the previous Opera 12 snapshots as well, but I had my background and everything go black, as seen here: http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/5634/operablack.png
I had HWA on. On the 12 snapshots I had turned HWA off due to text vanishing. This doesn't happen at first. I was using the Lab build for about 20 minutes before it happened.
