  • cpun20. August 2008, 09:00:43

Nice! It´s good, that you all work now only on one Version, and not 9.5x and 9.2X. It will be faster. But..I reported it for some times.animated avicons!!! It´s really important for many, who use only icons( without text) for example in adress bar!! IS it so hard to do??
    anyway, thx
  • rossi-peter20. August 2008, 09:05:56

THX for the new release
I have just a few issues with the search.
With the new release ASK is set to be new standard search, but unfortunately is not the best one for me. That’s why I tried to set google as my preferred search engine but after setting it a couple of times as standard it just won't work also editing the search.ini wouldn't work.
For example: I can delete ASK (and a couple of other search engines I don't need) and organize my search the way I want it. But after closing opera and opening it again all my adjustments seem to be forgotten and all deleted search engines are again in my search list!
Is this just an issue on my computer?

    I’m using Opera 9.52 Build 10108 and before the stable releases 9.50 - 9.51
  • keeper7k20. August 2008, 09:07:16

    Great job!
  • erielf20. August 2008, 09:08:13

The Ubuntu-version doesn't seem to be available yet.
I hope it gets there soon =)

    Peace,
  • terryphi20. August 2008, 09:08:16

The Ubuntu Linux version does not download!

Oops! I hadn't read the previous post but I can confirm the problem.
  • seemille20. August 2008, 09:11:41

    Thanks,

    Same build as rc2 ???

I hope the korean font problem will be fixed in next version.
    It's very annoying.
  • patkoscsaba20. August 2008, 09:11:50

This is the same build as RC2 ??? If I try to download the rpm for Mandriva i'm getting the same 2091 build rpm ... it is an error in numbering and I should update, or it is the very same RC2 'renamed' final version ??
  • DanielGEO20. August 2008, 09:16:56

Same here, with Ubuntu-Download... doesent start.

    TIA for fixing,
    Daniel
  • DanielGEO20. August 2008, 09:25:53

    Okay... download starts now.

But it links to a tar.gz-file and not to a .dep

  • sIRsIRBON8320. August 2008, 09:42:10

Linux version still does not work :-(
  • wirusek20. August 2008, 09:45:17

    Thanks
  • lamarca20. August 2008, 09:47:31

    thanks.
  • richlv20. August 2008, 09:49:20

there has been absolutely no official response to my question about reload every functionality in 9.5 series, which, i believe, has become harder to use.
the thread http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=225510 has seen no dev/rep response since march, and the problem is still there in 9.52.
any chance to get somebody to look at the issue ?
of course, i could try to report it as bug, but given that there's no way to track the issue later...
  • ytsmabeer20. August 2008, 09:54:24

@richlv:You don't need to track it, there you got dev for.
No bugrapport of a bug, is most likely also no fix.
  • Grrblt20. August 2008, 09:56:28

All videos on Aftonbladet webbtv - http://www.aftonbladet.se/webbtv/nyheter/utrikes/article3125069.ab - stop after 5 seconds for me. Don't think this happened in 9.51

It's possible to start the video again by clicking the.. time-slider?.. but it stops again after 5 more seconds.
  • terryphi20. August 2008, 10:04:17

Ubuntu 8.04 Linux download still not fixed. Have they broken it?
  • chivitli20. August 2008, 10:06:35

So, you did several improvements to the skin, but the issue with contrast between minimised tabs and active one on windows native skin is still here. After first release of Opera 9.50 Olli wrote that it should be fixed in next release, but here is 9.52 now, and that issue is still here. And it is the issue which cannot be hard to fix, nor it can broke something else when fixed. It can be fixed in matter of minutes actually... But it seems it isn't annoying for anyone there at Opera that it is impossible to notice difference between tabs, or no one is using that skin...
  • patkoscsaba20. August 2008, 10:17:19

So, is this the same with the RC2 build on Linux, or not? Do we upgrade or not?
  • HelderMagalhaes20. August 2008, 10:18:48

I've noticed two (potential) minor issues with the installer:
    * I was confronted with a "Yes"/"No" dialog asking if I wanted to upgrade my existing 9.52 installation: for multiple installation deployment (I have both the release version and weekly build installed) the typical "upgrade"/"choose other install location" was more useful; :frown:
    * Naming convention seem to have changed: at least, for the international version, "Opera_952_10108_in.exe" vs. "Opera_951_in_Setup.exe" (build didn't used to appear, no "Setup" keyword). Probably this was meant to change, but...

Congratulations on the Opera team, which is doing a really good work!
  • terryphi20. August 2008, 10:24:25

For Ubuntu 8.04 users: you can download from ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux/952/final/en/i386/

    opera_9.52.2091.gcc4.qt3-i386.deb

Presumably this is the beast we are looking for. Anyone brave enough to try installing it?

    "After you." "No, after you!"
  • Mistrio_xp20. August 2008, 10:32:37

Can't view friends page in the new Facebook design.. although the JS code is already there in the page source.. please fix i'm sure it's annoying A LOT of people
  • Comwan20. August 2008, 10:35:50

    Grrblt:

They work fine for me, 9.52, win xp sp3
  • brujo_quizz20. August 2008, 10:47:51

    ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux/952/final/en/i386/

    That's the ubuntu/debian version (for hardy/lenny download the gcc4 qt3), and it's the same build as rc2.
  • EricJH20. August 2008, 11:52:38

    Congrats and thanks as always....

Wait.... wait.... do I see a bird at the horizon getting towards us? Looks like it could be a Perergrine falcon..... can anybody confirm?:jester:
  • cspot20. August 2008, 11:59:28

bug 335896, still annoying, still not fixed since three "releases".
    http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=235164
do I really have to change to firefox3 to get rid of this popups?
  • c197320. August 2008, 12:03:21

I have "Show ScrollBars" not checked but they're still there. When I check it in preferences and confirm and after that uncheck it and confirm again they disappear. After restarting Opera, scrollbars are back again though not checked in preferences.

    Build 10108 @ XP SP3
  • chesss20. August 2008, 12:05:29

Returned the Windows shell menu to the Transfer context menu

    MUHAHAHAHA
  • calex7120. August 2008, 12:37:41

issue with dissappearing favicons from personal bar still present in this release
  • StrawberryKitty20. August 2008, 12:42:09

Opera 5.9x is finally starting to get stable and work right for me it's nice to see. The only remaining issue is sometimes when I open a blank tab it will cause opera to show the working mouse cursor animation and if I click the window it says Opera is not respondin after about 30 seconds it starts working. Mostly annoying I guess, this is on Windows Vista Premium SP1.
  • milliVanilli20. August 2008, 12:52:27

    rightclick bug is still there...

    this sucks tbh :/
  • The Rock Says20. August 2008, 12:54:41

What's the difference between the Classic installer and the other one?
  • ytsmabeer20. August 2008, 12:57:12

@milliVanilli:More info please, this is telling nothing

    Thanks Tamil.

Why oh why does Opera make it so difficult to find the Classic version?
I really don't want that MSI rubbish unless the app. gives no choice - I like all of Opera to be on D:\*
  • DjiXas20. August 2008, 13:04:31

If RC2 = Final, then there's a bug with new tab icon which got too big top padding.
  • King Crimson20. August 2008, 13:04:40

    Still the same bug:

when in Preferences I set to "open next tab on closing a tab", but tabs have been opened by ctrl+shift+left-click, it will open last active tab and not next tab!

    Thanks!
  • milliVanilli20. August 2008, 13:12:05

@ytsmabeer: you have to rightclick somewhere in the page, then directly rightlick on a link and click open. nothing happens.

i think its already reported as bug-336920
  • Yamaneko20. August 2008, 13:23:26

    Gmail work with this build?
  • Shion9920. August 2008, 13:47:06

    yeah!

    thanks
  • schwupps20. August 2008, 13:53:17

Yeah, thanks for adding ASK.COM, BITTORRENT and a bunch of other stuff I dont need to me search list.

And thanks that those search engines come back to my list every time I "accidentally" erase them. Nice.
  • burnout42620. August 2008, 14:07:21

Does Gmail work in this bulid?

    Logging in works fine.
    Composing works fine.
Uploading and sending attachments works fine.

Only problem I see is that when you send a message with an attachment, after the message is sent (will change from "still working" to "loading"), it won't refresh back to the message list. Clicking "Inbox" takes you back though.

As for Gmail IMAP, that's working perfectly.

    This one works for me
  • kiaM20. August 2008, 14:19:38

@milliVanilli: I can reproduce this behaviour.

    Opera 9.52, Win XP + SP3
  • n00bish20. August 2008, 14:21:46

I've been having issues with iframes being added to the history. I've had the fix work only sometimes - the rest of the time It's back to the old behaviour. I've done a full removal of Opera and a reinstall and it still gives this behaviour. I hope this can be re-visited..
