does the fixes here in this build already fix in the latest 12?
seeing both presto versions of 11.6x and 12
11.6.x=2.10.229
12.xx=2.10.238
also, in 12 one of the sites that i visit is perfectly rendered in 12(2.10.238) while in 11.6x(2.10.229) breaks the site and not rendered properly.
i dont want to report it since its already fixed in 12 but wont you mind upgrading the 11.62 final atleast to 2.10.238 presto version?

The release of the new mail client coincided with changes to Presto that make page transitions ugly on a number of sites. The option "prefs..advanced..browsing..redraw after xx seconds" is being ignored resulting in ugly flashing and momentary incorrect fonts on a number of sites. I've mentioned this before in several blogposts and have made a bugreport but the problem remains. Check out the following site as example:
www.ameeradance.com
www.cwc-services.com
In either case, just click on the various pages on the top-menu and see the page "flash" to white, the DOM jiggle about as Opera does layout, and the fonts momentarily incorrect.
There seem to be a number of issues:
- CSS is not fully applied until after the page drawing begins
- Sometimes the document is drawn before any CSS is applied
- The page is cleared before drawing, leading to nasty "flashing" on dark sites
- Sites using performance techniques like minifying and Gzipping are often not rendered correctly the first time - DIVs are incorrectly placed and objects are not sized correctly. A subsequent refresh of the same page fixes the problem. This can be seen at demo.yootheme.com by simply looking at one of the themes and navigating around the links.
- Redraw after xx seconds, the option designed to hide Presto's layout algorithm in-progress from the user, also designed to smooth page transitions and reduce flashing etc.. is just being ignored altogether on a number of sites. If this were working correctly, some of the above issues would melt away.
All of this makes Opera an ugly experience for users. Of course Opera is my preferred browser, and I can work around these issues, but friends and colleagues are put off by these idiosyncrasies and head over to Chrome etc. instead. Will we ever have back the smooth browsing experience of the 11.5x Presto line (pre Mail update)?
Another small bug re. Mail, clicking on an addressee in the To: or From: line of the mail body and hitting "Compose" does nothing.
Seb
