Final fixes before the Easter Holidays
Before we all go off to celebrate Easter Holidays, we thoughts we'd give you a few final fixes to show what we have been working on. As you can see from the changelog there are quite a lot improvements. Most of these issues are cross platform fixes, however both Mac and UNIX get a number of Widget fixes. Additionally we fixed a couple of the more annoying issues on UNIX.
Please try to keep your comments on topic (i.e. about the new changes and fixes we have made, or newly discovered bugs) as it helps to gather useful feedback. For general discussions or previously reported bugs please use the forums. Additionally, when discussing new issues please mention which Operating System you use, including the version (and the distribution and Desktop Environment on UNIX/Linux).
Thanks for the bug hunting over the holiday period!

Thanks!
I don't expect this build will magically fix the Cookie DNS error that has been plaguing us in the 10.x series, but I'll still give it a try...
Edit --
I actually liked it this way... Can we revert through a (hidden) setting?

If this fix should have an impact on my (at least 4 years standing) Opera's DST oddity, well, than it does not resolve the issue.

having space back is good too.
Having the progress bar pop up still causes tremendous slow down though.

about:config search not working in 64bit Linux, at least correctly. If I do a search nothing happens but is I switch tabs then return the search has been performed - actually if I click anywhere on the desktop the search is performed
question - it there away to move the in-page search back to the bottom?

^ Now if only it was fixed for middle clicking / opening in a new tab!
Fixed DSK-288752 (Scrolling by middleclick scrolls fixed positioned content)
^ Needs fixing for arrows keys too (as well as the flickering of the pop-up progress bar at the bottom)

And the rightclick + scroll feature of navigating between tabs. Then it's about perfect for me.
As for the GTK integration, it might be useful if a check can be made or an override be written for websites that set a background colour for input fields, but fail to set a text colour. Now Opera takes the input colour from the CSS and GTK theme, and with dark themes (currently using AmberGTK) and that means light grey text on white inputs. Not very readable. See http://www.deviantart.com on the search field. Input defined as white, but no text colour specified.
Other way around also happens (text set in CSS, but no input background). This is can be seen on my Online Banking site: https://www.fortisbanking.com/private/StartOLB.asp
You enter numbers in the boxes, but if you have a dark theme, these inputs are black, and the text is black too. Go figure.

A lot of people seem to be confirming this, not confirmed here. Maybe it's because the 64-bit version shares it's codebase with Windows Server 2003..
Windows XP x64 (shows up as Windows NT 5.2 on opera:about).

I can't check whether opera 10.1x would auto-select the address bar with the cursor, as one of the opera 10.5x beta's ruined my 10.1x install (it inadvertently updated it instead of my Opera 10.5x directory branch )

Really? When focussed on a text area Opera, sensibly, applies ctrl+z to the text in that area, very useful for when you make a typo or delete something you did not want to delete. I suppose Opera 10.1x did not focus to address bar by default then. Personally, i think the current behaviour makes more sense. It does not affect me that much in any case because i have ctrl+alt+z set up as a back-up for cases such as this one(but also for when i'm typing in a text box on a forum or blog).

Horizontal scrollbar can scroll much more to right than it should.

Seems like the "alt" key isn't properly detected, "O"-menu doesn't open. But at least it doesn't open the *** O menu when pressing alt+tab anymore
And when using ctrl+tab to switch tabs, the "tab switch dialog" isn't closed (you have to press the esc key to close it). (and the black box around the tab switcher is still known?
Edit:
Forgot to mention:
Linux (openSUSE 11.1) running KDE 4.5 (dev) Xorg version 7.5. Keyboard is a Logitech MX 5500, xev reports "alt_l" as keycode 64 and "control_l" as keycode 37 (but these are probably default?)
Edit 2:
Same on my laptop running openSUSE 11.2, KDE 4.4 (stable) Xorg 7.5. The keycodes for alt_l and control_l are the same (as I already suspected)

Wow! Great regression fix! Thank you!I've just some little remarks to do :
Firstly, there is a strange shadow under the buttons, which can take three different aspect — white dots, full gray and full black. I can't do a screenshot for the moment, sorry.
Secondly, when the tab isn't maximized, MDI buttons doesn't go away (it is not a bad thing at all !) but the restore button is not able to maximize it again, it does nothing.
Thirdly, when there is no active tab, MDI buttons and menu icon stay here while it shouldn't as they can't act with any tabs.
Finally, the MDI menu is empty, whereas we can double click it to close the tab — like with Opera 10.10 and above.
And a last remark, not totally related, the menu bar is taller than in Opera 10.10.

Of course, when I stop to resize, the position and the size are ok, it's just temporary "visual" bug.

My impression is that pages are definitely loading with fewer "part loaded and empty loaded" problems, and the "DNS confirmation" bug appears historic here (once-off fix if it does happen: clear cookies for affected site + clear history/cache + restart Opera, clears the problem for any site still affected). Pages that don't load properly are more often responsive to reload (although sometimes not until a new tab is opened for the same URL).
If DSK-290618 is fixed I'll be able to check if this is accurate or just an impression. But with Opera liable to temporarily request then release > 2 GB memory during startup, it's impossible to let it freely load all tabs from a large session otherwise it crashes.
