Important crash fixes
A few of you complained that you found the last snapshot more "crashy" than normal, so we looked at the crashlogs you provided and fixed the two major problems. Please give this build a spin and let us know if the crashes you were experiencing are resolved.

Known issues
- Fraud protection not working correctly
- Check for updates entry is sometimes missing on the Mac
- Custom searches are not always preserved after upgrade
- Possible clipping of some dialogs under Linux/FreeBSD
- Some Speed Dials refresh every second if you upgrade between 11.10-2020 and 11.10-2025: This only affects snapshot users and will not affect those who upgrade from the stable, so will not be fixed.

this fix is a must before another stable.

Are you seeing this "restart-loop" with the current snapshot? Or the previous one?

If I could say it fixed it I'd post but can't at the moment; hence why I was asking. Fingers crossed though...

Results for me:
- 2020: works great. Found no bugs in the time I tested it.
- 2033: works well, but at startup, the interface is unresponsive -- it doesn't refresh the GDI or something. It's stalling like that for a while, I can't access my tabs (about 240 of them), I can click the address bar, and if I switch to another app and come back, nothing shows up. After a few minutes, it comes back.
- 2039: refresh issue is fixed, but it crashes after a couple of minutes while still loading the tab list. Also, I noticed that 'Native' types of skins are broken. (On Windows XP SP3.) If I select the default skin it works, if I then select a native skin it works too, but as soon as I switch to another app and come back, the toolbars are shown in black. The Stop/Reload button shows both button states at the same time. If I hover a button, its background is restored to normal (only for that button though.) I went back to 2039 then 2020 this morning.
- 2040: crash issue is fixed. Native skin bug remains, though. I can live with it, but it's ugly...
Also, I got logged out of my.opera.com and the login page doesn't offer to fill in my password, even though it's stored. I tested on my website and I have no such problem so I suppose something changed over at My Opera's cookie/session handling.

In speeddial the preview pictures not scaled by 100%; in my OPERA the speed dial previews are very large and OPERA only shows a little bit of the webpage

- open emails, folder received;
- clcick column "sent" (twice) to sort by time received descending to bring latest to the top;
- select top email line;
- then click folder "Spam".
It crashes immediately. And always. Very easy to reproduce.

I wanted to transfer my Opera Link stuff to another account so just logged out of Link in this snapshot. Then logged into the new account. The bookmarks and notes synced across onto the new account but the speed dial did not.
Known issue?
//edit to add//
Just heard from mitchman in the #snapshot that SD sync in Link is disabled at the moment. So that's that answered. Maybe should go as a known issue for the moment?

Also cannot validate (W3C) only the first opened "localhost" tab. (i have a httpd running locally with virtual hosts)
When i reorder the tab that caused problems, it validates, but then the first to come stops validating. The remote pages have no problems.
eg.
I have 3 tabs opened:
1. http://opera.com -> validates
2. http://somelocalhost/ -> error
3. http://somelocalhost/something -> validates
and
1. http://opera.com -> validates
2. http://somelocalhost/something -> error
3. http://somelocalhost/ -> validates
or 2 tabs:
1. http://somelocalhost/ -> error
2. http://somelocalhost/something -> validates
seems the first tab do not upload correctly
I get
Software error:
Can't use an undefined value as an ARRAY reference at /usr/local/validator/httpd/cgi-bin/check line 564.
For help, please send mail to the webmaster ([no address given]), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.

Strange, I first tried to go there by right-cliking on my extensions, then "Manage" then "Get new extensions" and it didn't crash like you said. But then I clicked on your link, and it crashed when I hovered the items !? Also, as I had two tabs opened with the same content (Opera extensions, I noticed a little unexplainable difference, look at these captures: http://simplest-image-hosting.net/png-0-2011-03-14-154904 http://simplest-image-hosting.net/png-0-2011-03-14-154923 -> look at the "Sécurisé" (=secured) button... - Also, the 100% CPU bug is still present when hovering this comment box (in the blog) - And some Opera blog pages don't load (blank pages). For example, my browser is set to reopen with last tabs, so if I close it now on this current page (http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/2011/03/14/important-crash-fixes), next time I'll launch Opera, I'll get a blank page. And reloading it won't work.Forstyrr14. March 2011, 14:55

Same here, it began randomly this morning on previous build. It might just be a detail, but I used "sorting by date of creation" option in my bookmarks before it started crashing (I don't change this setting, usually).
Anyway, my crashing issue is resolved too, thank you.

See included screenshot: there is a pstorage folder at the top (normal) and a file called "pstorage\00\12\00000000" (abnormal)...

When/If you get a chance to test it, please report a bug if it still crashes. We hope those installer crashes are solved. If it still crashes we would love to have reports on this. Thanks.

On regular basis this build runs smooth, but I'm guessing the booth at SXSW will be a bit nervous when showing it off
Good luck

Opera now crashes every time when I close it.
It does not matter if I open pages after starting it or just start and close. It just crashes.
I sent several crash logs.

Re Speed Dial reloading: Are you saying that those who, for example, see all the thumbnails showing numbers and loading at first opening each session will have to go back to 11.01 before installing 11.10 final?

I have an idea for the Speed Dial. For an example i have 4 columns on my Speed Dial and it fits very good but i wanna have 5 columns, the last column disappears out of the browser window. The problem can be solved when the Speed Dial image zoom automatically smaller. The Speed Dial layout will fit perfect in every situation.
