New RC for Windows and Mac

April 21, 2010 · by olli

Hey
As you have noticed we have been trying to kill that NSL bug for a while now. We decided to revert some Cookie behavior to how it was in 10.10 to make it go away for now. So please test for regressions related to cookies/loading of pages.
Please tell us if you still get NSL. Your feedback on this bug is very important.

Both sites Work for me in both yesterdays and todays snapshots.

Perhaps it's a urlfilter or user.js that's stopping it load for you (that is the usual cause)

Could you provide a little more detail about your setup? What OS are you on and have to tried with a clean profile. I can load both sites without issue on my machine (currently testing on 64bit Linux).

I just unpack tar.gz and run fresh from Ubuntu that's all and using 32bit base.Homer: Doh!

They load properly on OS X 10.6.3, build 8335 (not clean install, upgraded from previous RC which was installed on top of 10.10).
  • Floriano21. April 2010, 11:45

I have a constant problem since the beginning of 10.50 series with the statusbar: if you add the progress status field to it, the status bar disappears altogether when you hover a long link.

Tried with my profile and with a clean one, still there.
  • netwolf21. April 2010, 11:47

Didn't have NSL trouble with prev. build on XP, but some images just didn't ever load, no matter how often I reloaded, I always only saw the place-holder.
  • Jeroen21. April 2010, 11:56

Also a problem on youtube with the play/resize button. Using Mac os X 10.6.3. Cant click on them.

Edit: Sometimes I can some time I can`t.
  • metude21. April 2010, 11:56

    I'm using Windows XP SP3...

In 10.10 using frame web sites is working with FastStone...
    http://files.myopera.com/mithatates/Screencapture/10.10_1.jpg
    http://files.myopera.com/mithatates/Screencapture/10.10_2.jpg

But in 10.5x (10.52.3366) using frame web sites doesn't work with FastStone...
    http://files.myopera.com/mithatates/Screencapture/10.52_1.jpg
    http://files.myopera.com/mithatates/Screencapture/10.52_2.jpg

and scrolling windows capture feature (in fast stone) doesn't work normal view. If i want to work it, i have to switch opera to full screen mode (f11)...
  • ghIEHm21. April 2010, 11:57

    I love you guys !!

    NSL doesn't emerge - yet.
I'll test the sites i've recorded

It's loading incredibly slowly on every browser I tested.
Chrome and IE finish after about 3 minutes though, while Opera hangs on 79/80 even after 6 minutes (time of post).
    XP SP3 on 16 MBit.

It could very well be the website that is sending opera a bad page on purpose. Try editing the site preferences, and select "Masquerade as Firefox".

EDIT: Site works perfectly for me, even when not changing the User Agent.
  • kimyu9221. April 2010, 12:25

Unconfirmed, it showed everything but it kept loading because ws.amazon.com was not responding. After a while that server responded, so no NSL.

I still have problem with log in Google Reader and Twitter. Still nothing happens as well as in previous build. I'm behind a corporate proxy server. OS: Windows 7 x86.

And yes, in Opera 10.10 everything works fine.
  • draco21. April 2010, 12:40

Old friend... oops!... bug: maps.google.com still freezes Opera after login into google account. No google cookies = works very well.

    Windows 7 x64
  • AmiDream21. April 2010, 12:40

That is not funy. :frown: Im delete histori, cookies, cache, uninstall Opera delete all Opera folder... Delete all plugin who can run in Opera... Install new build. Refresh speeddial... and freeze again. That freeze every 15 min. I tried that on 2 computer (Win 7 x64) - and nothing help. (50%-60% CPU)
But on Win 7 x86 - all fine. :frown: ANYONE can confirmed that? :frown: Last 4 build - horrible for me. :frown:
  • baribalbear21. April 2010, 12:41

On my ~70-100 tabs Opera after fresh installation with only autosave.win session file from the previous installation I have all pages shown but some of them have "Connecting to remote host...", "Completed request to..." and "Sending request to...". After stop/start these pages they have "blue circle status" at the right corner of the tab, so they definitely at 100% loaded. After Opera restart they are all loaded at 100%. But after clearing cache and cookies and Opera restart I get again some of the pages randomly with "Connecting to remote host...", "Completed request to..." and "Sending request to...".
  • baribalbear21. April 2010, 12:43

So NSL still there for me, but "Waiting for DNS confirmation..." went to history. :D It is nice to have working Opera again.

Loads completely when js "popup" is closed and page reloaded, but then page is cut in half, unless browser id is changed.
