Opera 11.01 snapshot

January 7, 2011 · by Haavard

This is a snapshot of Opera 11.01, a possible future minor/bugfix release for Opera 11.

In addition to mouse gesture fixes and various other things, we have also looked at the top crashers in Opera 11, and several of them have been fixed in this snapshot.

Although this is a minor/bugfix release, you may notice that there are more Core fixes in this build than you might expect. This is due to our development model at Opera, where we often receive batches of fixes from the Core team that have been tested, and are ready for public consumption. Since the batch of fixes contains important bug fixes, we receive other fixes as well as a "bonus". We also get to test these fixes in public.

WARNING: This is a development snapshot: It contains the latest changes, but may also have severe known issues, including crashes and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all.

Yahoo mail gives this message when trying to log in. First time this has happened???
"Sorry, the all-new Yahoo! Mail does not support your browser.
If you want to use the all-new Yahoo! Mail...
You can download any of the supported browsers for free by clicking the links below:
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (for Windows)
Firefox 2.0.0.1 or higher (for Mac and Windows)
Safari 3.0.4 or higher (for Mac)"
How to we get Yahoo and other pages to add Opera to their list?
This worked in 11.00 Opera and previous builds.

Could you provide some details on how to trigger that?
  • Iamallen7. January 2011, 17:03

On this weather page there are 2 issues.
    1. Have to move map a bit to invoke animation.
    2. Once animation starts the cloud cover is not transparent.
See F.F. or I.E. to see the difference.

    Several crash fixes (...extension autoupdate

Did anyone see extension autoupdate function happen in 11.00? Maybe it depends on the extension, but I never saw one autoupdate. Was the above-mentioned crash silent or apparent?
  • QuHno7. January 2011, 17:11

    Thanks for repairing mousgestures up

    Can't confirm, neither with XPSP3x32 nor with 7 x64.

Any Extensions or Userscripts that interfere?
Acid3 is made for browsers that run in absolute default mode.

Nice! Please, fix referrer sending by clicking middle button! DSK-321631 bug
Oops, Happy New Year, friends!!! drunk
  • Oleg7. January 2011, 17:13

    1. If the "Enable special effects" in <Appearance> in the state <off>, we can see "hover" artifacts - broken buttons, broken panels.
    2. Bring back the ability to change bg color in skins Section [Panel Treeview Skin.focused] - are not working correctly.
    In earlier versions everything worked.

    Right. Fixed.
  • Saskatchewan7. January 2011, 17:18

So far, so good. Thanks up!

However, there is still one unfixed problem with shortcuts (just reported that): DSK-325192 - Single-key shortcuts not displayed in keyboard setup editor & bug when adding such shortcut manually
  • mrd7. January 2011, 17:19

    Mouse gestures: thank you!

Just noticed a problem with this page at 130% zoom

    http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2011/01/07/williams-journey-finally-brings-him-back-to-mom.html?sid=101

Getting the page tearing; a chunk of it is staying put while scrolling then creating garbage all over the page. At 100% it is fine.

    w7 x64. This snapshot.

Dudes & dudets, You have no idea how bad I missed the mouse gestures. Thank You Man! I feel back to normal again. Sorry but without your mouse gestures, I probably wouldn't be using this browser. Seriously...cool

  • Charlie Clark7. January 2011, 17:35

Anyone wishes to copy their preferences may like to know that this is "Opera 110".

This release also appears to fix a regression in the 11 release with Flash clips on BBC pages (processor use 100% and some UI blocking) which is nice to see.
