February 9, 2012 · by Adam Minchinton

Following up on our Christmas gift we are pleased to offer an updated release of the out of process plug-in and 64-bit Labs builds of Opera. If you just can't wait, head over to the Opera Labs blog, and grab the builds right now!

Please keep sending in your feedback yes

WARNING: This is an Opera Labs build: It contains work in progress, which may also have severe known issues, including crashes, and data loss situations. In fact, it may not work at all. Opera Labs builds are not based on current Wahoo snapshot releases.

Nice to see such frequent updates (well, first one AFAIK, but quite quick) on that topic. :-)
  • QuHnoThursday, February 9, 2012 5:19:23 PM

Whatever the changes of the updated build according to webGL are:

    Congratulations! up

Please introduce these changes to the normal 12 series too! This is the first build that doesn't crash my video driver, no matter how I torture it.

It works like a charm since I set the web workers to their double values smile

Thanks a lot ! I hope this code will be merged soon with Desktop Team releases and 64 bits Windows builds will be provided as well as 32 bits ones smile

  • netwolfThursday, February 9, 2012 5:37:59 PM

Hmm, where can I find a proper list of changes since the last OOPP build?
    (only found updated Known Issues).

    Thank you!

    hey it was fast thanks.testing;-)
  • kapsiThursday, February 9, 2012 7:08:32 PM

Scrolling on sites like lifehacker.com or cnet.com (fixed page elements, box-shadow bugs), is a lot better in this build, finally! Scrolling still spikes CPU usage, but at least it's smooth.
  • kapsiThursday, February 9, 2012 7:11:18 PM

Also the horizontal lines don't appear anymore on images, while scrolling on zoomed pages. I like these changes.
  • AvolaThursday, February 9, 2012 7:13:59 PM

I kept getting crashes on Youtube. Win7 x64

    on this page:
Opera Labs builds are not based on current Wahoo snapshot releases

on the linked opera labs page:

This build is based on Opera 12 (Wahoo) therefore it includes all the features from recent Opera Next snapshots

    ...clarity?
  • metudeThursday, February 9, 2012 8:06:36 PM

Thanks for build and please don't understand me wrong. I'm wondering this.

about the HA, it' because that I couldn't use well previous OOPP snapshot and the last Opera Camera snapshot, the HA was active and the CPU reached 100%, freezing definitively both Operas.

    Now it's normal
  • PengePenge4Thursday, February 9, 2012 9:32:33 PM

For some time I have reported problems with the following link and setting the video to full-screen which results in a repeatable crash for many builds of 11.XX including the current 11.62. http://www.globaltoronto.com/video/news+hour+feb+9/video.html?v=2194928879&p=1&s=dd#video

It works just fine with this build of Opera Labs - good stuff.

The Opera Labs builds are a way of getting feedback from you on tasks that are not finished yet. This is so that we can take your feedback in while the task is ongoing, at a moment when it's very easy to make changes. That's useful for us, especially for bigger tasks. There's nothing stopping you from testing, and we mention the known issues so that you know you don't have to file bugs for those since we know what they are.

If there would be known issues, this task would be in Opera Next already smile.

s***, this is blazing fast. Keep up the good work guys, we appreciate it. yes
  • adioniFriday, February 10, 2012 2:24:25 PM

Just to reiterate what others have posted, this build certainly 'feels' a lot faster/smoother than recent stable releases & snapshot builds of 11.6+ & 12 .

On the mac, I had to disable webfonts in opera:config in order to keep sites like theverge.com and techcrunch.com from crashing opera every time. The minifeed facebook extension (like in all recent builds) is also acting wonky. Other than that, though, this is great build.

    opera:gpu

Copy and Paste that info. There is a problem with texture filtering in your graphics card. Do you have the newest graphics driver for your GPU?

yes, newest. I am ready to provide additional information. all for that picture is not blured!

Under Plugin crash toolbar -> Report this issue:
See %1 for Opera.... %1 should be replaced
Last page visited should auto fill using the current tab url

When plugin crashes, tooltip for Plugin content changes to "You need to enable JS to access this content..." which is not correct

Could you check if any advanced features are being "forced" by the Catalyst drivers? Especially texture optimization or antialiasing. Showing on the blocklist as "supported" typically indicates the card was functional in some context. Mostly Nvidia cards have had OpenGL issues that resulted in blacklisting.

That depends on the site. Some domains have error messages that become visible only if the plugin content is not concealing them.
