Tunny Release Candidate
This is the first Opera 11.60 (Tunny) Release Candidate.
A Release Candidate could potentially be released as the final version if there are no issues that are serious enough to block the release. If there are any issues that are not critical, please wait for the next Wahoo (Opera 12) snapshot, and discuss it there instead.
Windows users will notice that we have removed the native skin. Rather than having to maintain two separate skins, we're putting more effort into improving the standard skin. If you would like to discuss this change, please create a thread in the forum, or post in an existing thread if one already exists.
NOTE!
Please try to keep comments relevant, as we need to focus on critical issues that could potentially block the release. Requests, minor bugs like visual glitches, bugs that are not regressions, etc. should be posted on the next Opera 12 (Wahoo) snapshot.

Two little annotations:
1st) The previous snapshot just started crashing on every startup. It was - again - only fixable by choosing compatibility mode for WinXP. Checking if the RC behaves better...
2nd) I love the slimmer address bar and getting rid of the Windows Native skin surely is a good decision. However, since this is the only skin available in Windows now, it shouldn't look unfinished. I'm sorry for complaining about visual glitches - again and in spite of your comment in the post
(If you'd reduce that space to 1 or 2 pixels, it would be even better (and more featherweight

my Mem Usage is about over 1M (1,000,000 K),
and that makes my PF Usage more than 3 GB,
My CPU Usage over 50%
That's very HUGE. When I close Opera (Completely) in Task Manager. My PF Usage goes down to about 0.5 GB,
My CPU Usage is about 2-4% only.
FYI, I installed Opera 3 versions on my PC, version 9, 11.6x. 12.x.
While I open about 50 tabs, version 9 just use Very Low on Mem Usage, PF Usage & CPU Usage. While verion 11.6x & 12.x Give me really High (just 10 tabs only) as I've described in the 2 above Paragraphs.
I hope OPERA TEAM could make the new version not that HIGH resources HOGGING. That would make Opera the best browser ever.
BTW, My CPU is Core I7 930 @3.80GHz (Overclocked), 3GB of RAM (can't use more than 3GB of RAM as I'm using Win 32bits)
My Windows is Windows XP Professional SP3
Thank very much Opera Team.

Ah well... I saw that coming - even said so a few builds ago.
Glad to see that my named bookmarks will actually appear in the address drop-down again!
Now to check if the threading issues are finally fixed...

NO small issues! Those won't be fixed for this version so save it for the next blog post.

Btw, I am having weird stuttering issues with this build. Once in a while when I scroll it stops for a second and then it continues the scrolling. Just bad performance in this build!

i consider this a critical bug, because writing emails in GMail should be a basic function that can't be compromised. this bug was also reported by user LinqiDale on the opera desktop team blog under the 1180 comment thread, and by user NedTheNanite on the opera forums.
discussed somewhat here:

I am using mozplugger (+okular/acroread - it does not matter which app I configured to display the pdfs) to display pdfs.
Mozplugger worked fine in Opera 10.50 and still works in Firefox.
Flash and Java plugin work without problems.
The mozplugger plugin is listed in about:plugins. Also, the pdf is correctly downloaded (I checked with wireshark).
Using Debian Wheezy on amd64, mozplugger 1.14.3. I am running KDE 4.7 (same problem with KDE 4.6.5 that comes with wheezy).

It is much more likely , that I'd search there for bookmark , then pages that I've visited , cause I saw them already.
Nicknames for bookmarks became almost useless !

- Widgets installed under 11.5x still crash on startup. (Several chrashlogs submitted) - This is a regression
- Opera forgets already accepted again. I seemed to be gone two snapshots ago. (Reported Opera bug DSK-351447) - No regression

So, other regressions:
- message zoom not preserved in M2 when switching between them;
- zoom slider changes message zoom, but is not updated when zooming using Ctrl + mouse wheel;
- lack of favicons in address field dropdown is also regression (for sure not improvement).

It is very easy to fix since I have already made the work for you
_____
The browser is nearly perfect now (expect for one or two bugs that still remain).
Good job !

And why is the address bar now so small while the padding around it didn't get reduced? Doesn't save space or anything. The size before was good, you should have just reduced the padding as fas as possible,
SCRAMsequenceFriday, December 2, 2011 12:52:35 PM
FYI this is a regression from 11.52.

I'm suffering from this since this snapshot (Opera-Next-12.00-1076) came out. Every 7-8th page I visit is unresponsive until the content loads.
The piece of code I presented is extracted from the extensions Ghostery and Textarea resizer. So, if someone has these two extensions installed, probably they experience the problem too.
There is no such a problem in 11.52.
P2O2Friday, December 2, 2011 1:09:57 PM
Copied from 11.60.1180 thread and updated with results concerning Opera 11.60.1181.
The freezes are still present!

I have found the deleted Flash driver (11.0.1.152 aka 11.0 r1) here:
http://www.instalki.pl/programy/download/Linux/wtyczki/Adobe_Flash_Player_dla_Linux.html
Alas, it doesn't work with Opera 11.60.xxxx - it freezes Opera when closing a tab with downloaded flash in background.
It works only with Opera stable version 11.52.
I tried to run older Flash 10.0.45.2 (10.0 r45) with the same results.
Recap:
======
Only Opera 11.52 does not freeze using the following Flash x68_64 for Linux drivers:
10.0.45.2 (10.0 r45)
11.0.1.152 (11.0 r1)
11.1.d102 (stable)
11.2.d202 (beta)
I repeat - all Opera 11.60.xxxx freezes with the above four versions of Flash drivers when closing a tab with downloaded flash in background on my rig and with the testing website.
Regards
P.S. That's the same problem as described by
Daniel(DD64) # Friday, December 2, 2011 2:15:46 PM
below on the list. Namely:
"(...)_before_ the video/player has been "initialized"(...)"

Although moving the scroll wheel in my mouse by one notch up/down should scroll the lists of emails/feeds by 6 lines, Opera scrolls them by more than that number of lines. I have to use the scroll bar, which is inconvenient. It's baffling because this problem was not present in version 11.5x.
Graphical explanation:
Feed 1
Feed 2
Feed 3
Feed 4
Feed 5
Feed 6
Feed 7
Feed 8
Feed 9
Feed 10
Feed 11
Feed 12
In my case, I adjusted the height of the list of emails/feeds to 6 lines, therefore, without scrolling the list down I see only Feeds 1-6. However, when I scroll down by one notch, I should see Feeds 7-12. But in Opera 11.60 as well as 12.00 I don't. I see further items in the list.
See the screenshots:
This is the top of the list:
This is when I scroll one notch down:
This is what I SHOULD see:
Win Vista 64bit SP2 as well as Win XP SP3 32bit

Reproduce:
(- (Re)start Opera)
- Open a video on Youtube (HTML5-Mode enabled)
- Close that tab _before_ the video/player has been "initialized" (you have to be really fast).
- Opera will freeze
In my opinion, that's a major bug.

Plus veeeeerrrryyy slow rendering pages with larger HTML tables (phpmyadmin for example), Opera is not useable with these.
