CNN: Browser choice benefits Web users

November 4, 2005 · by Haavard

A little mainstream news coverage never hurts alternative browsers, and this CNN story on browser choice is quite nice. It talks about how Microsoft came out on top in the first round, but that alternative browsers like Opera and Firefox are now forcing Microsoft to wake up and deal with the fact that there's competition on the horizon.

There's even a poll which currently has Opera in a nice position

The poll is flawed, it asks about software company but says Firefox instead of Mozilla.

Anyway, a nice article overall

Alas, such polls show that this kind of article is not read by those users who still use IE. But it's sure nice to be able to point IE users to this kind of article when they want to have a "trustworthy" reference about why they should maybe look into an alternative browser.
